City Skill Training Centre (CSTC) visited Grandis Hotel Kota Kinabalu for an industry engagement session with the Technical Advisor Committee, gaining valuable insights into industry expectations for culinary trainees.

Our Technical Advisor Committee ,Chee Wei Loon (Pastry Chef) and Shalehoddin Ahmad (Sous Chef) highlighted the importance of kitchen safety, basic culinary skills, product knowledge, dedication, discipline, and a willingness to learn.

At CSTC, we prepare our trainees for more than just the kitchen.

Alongside building their culinary skills, kitchen techniques and industry readiness, our trainees are also learning what it takes to step confidently into the working world, including understanding EPF/KWSP, employee benefits and financial planning.

Today, our trainees joined an EPF/KWSP Talk and were given the opportunity to open their own EPF accounts. Taking their first steps towards being financially prepared for their future careers.

Because being work-ready is more than knowing your way around a kitchen. It’s knowing your way around the working world too.
