UNITEN International Office recently held a fruitful discussion with representatives from the University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland, exploring potential collaborations between both institutions.

The diacussion was attended by Dr. Christine Wong, Asia Pacific Interim Director of University College Dublin, and Dr. Norshuhani Binti Zamin, Head of Global Exchange & Mobility (GEM), representing UNITEN.

The discussion focused on the possibility of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as well as future mobility initiatives that could benefit students and academic staff from both universities. Areas of collaboration explored include student exchange programmes, short-term mobility activities, academic cooperation, and opportunities for global engagement.

This discussion marks a positive step towards strengthening international partnerships and expanding global opportunities for the UNITEN community.

28 April 2026 - Head of GEM, Dr. Norshuhani Zamin visited Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) in Surabaya, Indonesia. A meeting with the staff of the Faculty of Advance Technology and Multidiscipline to discuss about potential collaboration with regards to student mobility has been arranged. Dr. Norshuhani also delivered a guest lecture to 120 UNAIR students on AI.

Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) recently welcomed a delegation from Central Queensland University (CQUniversity Australia).

The meeting, held on 26 March 2026 at UNITEN Putrajaya Campus, reflects a shared commitment to strengthening international collaboration and fostering closer institutional ties between both universities.

This visit marks an important step towards enhancing global engagement and future cooperation between UNITEN and CQUniversity.

Two students from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) proudly took part in the Winter School 2025 programme at the University of Seoul, South Korea, held from 8 to 23 February 2026.

Danial Ashraff Mohd Afifi, a Bachelor of Software Engineering (Hons) student, and Asyraf Mohd Azmi, a Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Hons) student, represented UNITEN in this enriching international academic and cultural exchange initiative.

During the two-week programme, they attended insightful lectures, engaged in dynamic workshops, and collaborated with fellow participants from around the world. The Winter School offered valuable exposure to global advancements in technology and innovation, while enhancing their critical thinking, adaptability, and intercultural communication skills.

Beyond the classroom, Danial and Asyraf immersed themselves in Korean culture through organised visits and cultural activities, gaining meaningful insights into South Korea’s rich traditions, rapid modernisation, and vibrant university life.

Their participation exemplifies UNITEN’s strong commitment to global engagement and international mobility. The experience has not only expanded their academic perspectives but also strengthened their confidence and readiness to excel in an increasingly interconnected world.

11 Feb 2026 - A meeting has been arranged between Onna Evdokimoff, Global Engagement Manager (Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, and the Pacific) from the Global Engagement Office, University of Western Australia (UWA), and the International Office, UNITEN.

We are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Universiti Tenaga Nasional
(UNITEN) and Al-Iraqia University, Iraq.

This MOU marks the beginning of a collaborative partnership focused on strengthening academic cooperation, knowledge exchange, and future joint initiatives between both institutions.

The signing ceremony was attended by the delegation from Al-Iraqia University, Iraq, comprising:

The ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Abduljaleel M. Mageed, Cultural Counsellor and Cultural Attaché, and Dr. Ammar Sabri Majeed, Senior Administrative Officer, Cultural Attaché, from the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, reflecting strong support for this international collaboration.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Associate Professor Dr. Hj. Firas Basim Ismail from the College of Engineering, UNITEN, for his role in connecting both institutions and supporting the establishment of this partnership.

We look forward to meaningful and mutually beneficial outcomes from this collaboration.
