The Jalur Gemilang we know today went through a long journey before becoming the proud symbol of Malaysia.

From the national flag design competition in 1949 to changes in its colours and symbols, and later the formation of Malaysia in 1963, every element carries its own meaning of unity, courage, purity and sovereignty.

It is more than just red, white, blue and yellow. Every stripe, crescent and star tells a part of the story that shaped Malaysia’s identity today. 🇲🇾
