I am blessed to have a group of dedicated teachers who have been teaching at my tuition centre for decades, since my eldest son, Jin was 5 years old (He is now 25!).

I didn’t have the confidence in dealing with English language at all when I first came to KL in 1992. Growing up in a small village means a lot of great fun but communication is in dialects).

My studies in Fine Art at Malaysia Institute of Art was hard. I thought studying Art won’t request much academic learning, let alone writing. Obviously, I was wrong!!!! There was so much of reading, writing, speaking and listening during the study. Imagine how challenging it was for me. I panicked, felt lost, and struggled throughout the whole 3 years!

I wished to further my studies to other countries like most of my friends did, but I dare not…because of my very weak English!

I knew that I didn’t want my boys to go through the learning experience I had. So my plan was to start them reading English story books at a young age. Knowing the mother tongue, to me, is important too however, knowing that they too will learn enough Mandarin for 6 years of primary education in Chinese school is sufficient.

Next on my list was to find a good English teacher, so I did!! So, not only my sons were improving their English, I did too!

Here, my centre that provides English and Bahasa Malaysia tuition is still ip and running till today! I am proud that this boutique centre is still alive in this challenging period. Not only students are learning, they have been instilled the right attitude and taught in creative ways in their online classes.

Because according to Article 26 on the UDHR, we have the rights to education.
