We’ve completed TCA’s second major workshop of the year for our internal students! 💙

Over these two days, our students had the opportunity to experience different forms of artistic learning through:

🎨 Outdoor park sketching
🎭 Musical Theatre — singing, dancing, acting & filming experience
🎹 Piano Master Class
🥁 Drum & Band Master Class

We hope they take away more than just wonderful memories — but also new experiences, new perspectives, and a deeper understanding of music and the arts.

We were also very happy to have parents joining us to observe, learn and experience the journey together.

We hope these two days have been meaningful and enriching for both our students and parents. ✨

More than the award itself, what makes us especially proud is seeing how much Carrie has grown from one performance to the next — becoming more confident, expressive, creative, and increasingly comfortable making the stage her own.

【一堂艺术课背后，老师真正设计的是什么？】

当我们观看一堂艺术课，最容易看见的，通常是孩子完成了什么：一幅作品、一首歌曲、一段表演，或者一个课堂活动。

这些成果当然重要。但在教育现场里，我越来越感受到，一堂课的专业，并不只存在于最后呈现出来的结果。

在孩子进入课堂以前，老师已经需要思考许多问题：这个活动为什么适合这个年龄？它希望发展什么能力？难度是否足够有挑战，却又不会让孩子太快失去信心？孩子会如何参与？当他暂时做不到时，老师应该示范、提示、等待，还是换一种方法？

同一个活动，也可能承担完全不同的教育目的。一首歌不只是唱对旋律，也可能训练聆听、记忆、合作与表达；一幅画不只是完成画面，也可能帮助孩子学习观察、选择、组织和想象。

课堂开始以后，计划也未必会完全按照原本的方向进行。孩子当天的状态、班级的节奏，以及现场出现的反应，都需要老师重新判断。有时候，专业并不是坚持完成所有步骤，而是知道什么时候需要停下来、拆小一点，或者换一条孩子能够进入学习的路径。

而在课堂结束以后，学习设计仍然没有完全结束。老师还需要回看：孩子在哪里投入？哪里出现困难？什么方法产生了效果？下一堂课需要继续什么，又有哪些地方需要重新调整？

这也让我提醒自己，教育不能只问：“今天教完了吗？”

也可以继续问：

孩子今天经历了什么？
老师从中观察到了什么？
这堂课如何成为下一步成长的起点？

家长看见的，也许是一堂四十五分钟的课。教育者需要设计的，却是孩子一步一步学习、尝试与成长的过程。

这也是我在 Tone Color Academy 进行课程讨论、课堂观察与教师培训时，持续提醒自己的一件事。我们希望老师准备的，不只是一项能够完成的活动，而是孩子为什么需要经历它、如何进入学习，以及课堂结束以后，下一步可以如何继续。
