Tickell's blue flycatcher (f)
(Cyornis tickelliae) is a small passerine bird in the flycatcher family. This is an insectivorous species which breeds in tropical Asia, from the Indian Subcontinent eastwards to Southeast Asia. Its range stretches across all the countries from India to Indonesia. They are blue on the upperparts and the throat and breast are rufous. They are found in dense scrub to forest habitats.

The name commemorates the British ornithologist Samuel Tickell who collected in India and Burma.

# Black-and-red Broadbill(Cymbirhynchus macrorhynchos)...黑红阔嘴鸟
Welcome home!!! What a big surprise...haven't seen this lovely bird or any records from other birders for almost five years in AHD.Glad to see one of them perch with nesting material in their mouth.Hopefully this lovely bird will back and stay forever to where they are before...not only them but also their next generation.

这个星期鸟摄最大的收获并非八色鸫或赤翡翠的出现，而是这只阔别了艾依淡红樹林保育區足足五年多的黑红阔嘴鸟。非但如此，还看见其中一只嘴里还衔着筑巢的小草支。希望不久将来这些黑红阔嘴鸟会从归属于它们的树林，他们的大自然。也希望它们的下一代也永远长留在这片属于它们的大地。
註：少一份对自然的破坏，就多了一份自然生态！

Another colorful bird at AHD...Measuring 180–205 mm (7.1–8.1 in) in length, the Blue-winged Pitta has a black head with a buff-coloured supercilium, white chin and buff underparts. The shoulders and mantle are greenish, the wings are bright blue, and the vent is reddish.The bill is black, eyes are brown and the legs pale pink.Juveniles have similar patterned plumage but are duller. It resembles the Mangrove Pitta but can be distinguished by its shorter bill.

A very poor quality photo and non colorful birds but this bird really caught my breath because it was so rear in Malaysia.At first I thought it was a Sakhalin Leaf Warbler (Phylloscopus borealoides) but after responding with my Pale-legged Leaf Warbler's bird call,I knew I hit the jackpot.This little cutie with immediate respond perched infront of me with the same call that I played,unfortunately I couldn't manage to get a better shot nor video recording due to poor weather and lighting.Anyway,still happy to put this little cutie into our AHD lifer bird list.

# 灰脚柳莺..（学名：Phylloscopus tenellipes）
一只很不起眼的小鸟但对我来说确实意义非凡的记录。灰脚柳莺..（学名：Phylloscopus tenellipes）对大多数鸟类摄影爱好者并非是首选目标鸟，但是由于灰脚柳莺在马来西亚是属于比较罕见的鸟类，而且有关其在本地记录是少之又少，所以在辨认方面往往比较困难。尤其是它与庫頁島柳鶯（学名：Phylloscopus borealoides）非常相似，所以唯有以播放鸟叫声来辨认。小弟初见这只灰脚柳莺时也是以同样的方法来确认。可惜当天的天色很暗，加上灰脚柳莺属于活跃性的小鸟，所以无法拍摄到清晰版的灰脚柳莺相片和录像。但是还是觉得很高兴因为通过播放灰脚柳莺的叫声，小弟终于确认了灰脚柳莺存在于Air Hitam Dalam Educational Forest - 艾依淡红樹林保育區。

The beauty of Air Hitam Dalam Educational Forest from the canopy of the forest. The canopy is the busiest part of the forest. The leaves, flowers and fruit that grow up there provide food for monkeys, birds, insects and other animals. It is an important place where migrating birds stop to rest, refuel and seek shelter en route between breeding and wintering areas. Crisp, cool mornings and warm evening colors provide a perfect place for all activities. I have only 20 minutes for me to shoot all these photos. Take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints.

The Brown Hawk-Owl (Ninox scutulata) is an medium size owl (32cm)which is a resident breeder in south Asia from India and Sri Lanka east to western Indonesia and south China. Its habitat is well-wooded country and forest. It lays three to five eggs in a tree hole. It feeds mainly on large insects, frogs, lizards, small birds, and mice. The call is a repeated low soft, musical oo-uk ...ooo-uk... which may be heard at dusk and dawn.Photographer Mr.Tan Hock Leong took this amazing shot at Air Hitam Dalam Educational Forest (very rare in AHD).

褐鹰鸮（学名：Ninox scutulata、Brown Hawk-Owl）为鸱鸮科鹰鸮属下的一个种。它属于中体型类鹰鸮（32cm）。主要食物为昆虫，青蛙，蜥蜴爬虫类，小鸟及老鼠等。它通常会在树洞内筑巢及诞下3~5 颗蛋左右。在Air Hitam Dalam Educational Forest - 艾依淡红樹林保育區是属于比较罕见的鹰鸮科类之一。

# Streak Breasted Woodpecker(Picus viridanus)...纹腹啄木鸟(学名:Picus viridanus)
This is a very lovely photo took by a friend from Hong Kong.Streak Breasted Woodpecker is one of the uncommon woodpecker in Malaysia and only be found at AHD. It is very similar in plumage to Laced Woodpecker (Picus vittatus).Indeed, unless good views are obtained these two species can be hard to separate.
*Note the streaked throat and upper chest (upper chest cannot be seen from this angle) (Laced Woodpecker has a plain, unmarked buff-olive throat).

纹腹啄木鸟(学名:Picus viridanus)
这张纹腹啄木鸟是一位香港的鸟类摄影家在艾依淡红樹林保育區所拍摄。纹腹啄木鸟在马来西亚属于罕见的啄木鸟类之一。通常只在艾依淡红樹林保育區可见其踪迹，也因为如此吸引了许多鸟类学家和摄影爱好者来这里一赌芳踪。纹腹啄木鸟和花腹啄木鸟非常相似，所以在辨别方面常常有一定的难度（除非从很好的角度来观看）。纹腹啄木鸟可见纹理在其喉部及胸部而花腹啄木鸟在喉部则只呈现没有斑纹的浅黄橄榄毛色。
