Grateful to have won first placing for both the Division W, Area W3 International Speech and Evaluation Contests respectively.
The lesson I learned is not to take things for granted and always practice before a contest.

Failure is the mother of success.
Two terms ago, I joined OUM Toastmasters Club for the sole purpose of participating in the Humorous Speech Contest, as I wanted to test my humorous speaking ability. I did not get a placement. Failure #1.
Last term, I participated in the Humorous Speech contest again. This time around, taking lessons from my previous failure, I won first place at my club. However, I was knocked out at Area E4 contest. Failure #2.
This term, taking lessons learned from failure #1 and #2, I worked harder and more intelligently. As a result, I secured first place at the Division E Humorous Speech Contest.
Henry Ford once said, "Failure is the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently."
Without disappointments, we can never experience accomplishment. Without rejections, we can never learn persuasion. Without failures, we can never achieve success.
Fail more. Fail often. Fail daily.

Resilience is one of the most important life skills a student can possess. It’s the capacity to bounce back from adversity and to pursue one’s goals despite obstacles.
This 1-hour workshop is designed for students to learn about the science of resilience and how to build the right skillset and mindset.
Students of Taylor's University learned
• What resilience is and why it matters
• How adversity is a necessity for success
• How to redirect stress before it becomes distress
• 3 simple approaches for training resilience
• 1 simple cognitive strategy for stress management
Overall, it was an interactive workshop with experiential learning about resilience. I am grateful for the opportunity to empower students of Taylor's University Malaysia.

Completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Business) in 3 years is going to be challenging. I am very to have Professor Motoki Watabe as my main supervisor. He is intelligent, introspective and inspiring.

I was so impressed with her significantly improved confidence that I kept saying "I am so impressed" throughout today's coaching session.
I am still impressed. Well done, Reshmita!

Back to school (once again).
This time around, as a PhD student, at the prestigious Sunway University.
I am deeply grateful to be offered a full scholarship for the Doctor of Philosophy (Business) program.
My gratitude to my supervisor, Prof. Motoki Watabe, and his co-supervisor, Dr Kyra Sin, for their support. Special thanks to my friend, Stephanie Pang, for sharing the opportunity with me a year ago.
The journey begins.

CULTIVATING RESILIENT FAMILIES
Last Saturday, a bunch of families came together to learn the skills of resilience and happiness. This milestone marks the completion of 6 public workshops based on the science of positive psychology (happiness, growth mindset & resilience) in Bandar Utama.
I want to thank a couple of strong man and a strong woman of the Persatuan Penduduk Bandar Utama 7&10, namely Sheng, CE Cheah and Lisa Chen. Without their guidance and support, I could never have done it.
Special thanks to MBPJ counsilor, Mr Danny Chan, for enabling this year-long project with his PJ MAMPAN community grant.
If you want to equip your school staff with knowledge of positive psychology, contact me.

Since the corona virus came to our world, I have started to believe in the power of positive psychology. I took up a course, then a second one to be certified as a trainer.
I have doubts whether this thingy will be accepted by Malaysians, more so Malaysian adolescents. Well....we are a third world country (my wife always say).
But what the heck?
If they don't know about positive psychology, how to $ #%k will they accept and then flourish from it?
I told my low-confident self, "You are super-J. You are destined to be the lead actor in this movie."
On 10 August, after going through days of anxiety, fear and self-doubt, I did it!
It wasn't too bad. The adolescents learned, laughed and left with skills to flourish.
