The Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment & Information Technology (FOEBEIT) proudly wrapped up Technovation Week 2025, which demonstrated a dynamic showcase of innovation, teamwork, and academic excellence.

Throughout the week, our students presented inspiring Final Year Projects (FYP), Integrated Design Projects (IDP), and Student Industry Relation (SIR) exhibitions, alongside the exciting TechSIC Innovation Competition and SICE Career Enhancement Workshops. The atmosphere was filled with energy, ideas, and collaboration! 🌟

We are delighted to celebrate the achievement of our Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering student, Yang YuQi, who will be graduating this November 2025, for successfully presenting his results derived from his Final Year Project (FYP) at the 11th International Conference on Computing, Engineering, and Design (ICCED 2025) held in hybrid mode at Cairo, Egypt 🇪🇬🌍.

“Beyond Model Tuning: Achieving Profile-Angle Robustness in Low-Cost Embedded Face Recognition via Strategic Database Enrichment”

🎉 Proud Student Achievement! 🎉

We are thrilled to share that Sebastian Chin, our SEGi University Bachelor of Electrical & Electronics Engineering (BEE) student graduating this November 2025, has successfully presented his Final Year Project (FYP) results at the ICCED 2025 International Conference, held in a hybrid mode in Badr City, Cairo from 13–15 November 2025. 🇪🇬✨

Sebastian participated online, showcasing his work to international researchers and academicians.

His presentation, titled:

🟢 “An Edge-Focused IoT System for Smart Laboratory Air Conditioning: Design, Deployment, and Energy Performance Analysis”
demonstrates innovation aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 7 (Affordable & Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action) through enhanced energy efficiency and smart environmental control systems. 🌍💡

He also received an official Certificate of Presentation, marking an impressive milestone and a proud moment for both him and SEGi University. 📜👏

🌟 Meet Our SEGi Lecturer – Ir. Ts. Najmi Haziq Bin Badrulhisam 🌟

We are proud to introduce Ir. Ts. Najmi Haziq Bin Badrulhisam, Programme Leader (Mechanical Engineering) at the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment & Information Technology (FoEBEIT), SEGi University.

With over five years of teaching experience and two years of industrial experience, he has taught core subjects such as Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Machines, Manufacturing Process, and Engineering Design & Drawings.

In recognition of his professional excellence, he earned the title of Professional Engineer (Mechanical) in 2023 and has been a Professional Technologist (Automotive) since 2021. Beyond campus, he also contributes as a Program Advisory Panel for Kolej Vokasional Klang and Kolej Vokasional Muar.

His research interests include internal combustion engines (ICEs), alternative fuels, biofuels, renewable energy, and mechanical design, reflecting SEGi’s continuous commitment to innovation and sustainability in engineering education. 🌱⚙️

We’re proud to share that our postgraduate PhD student, Xiong Dien, has successfully published two international research papers in 2025.

His research contributes significantly to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 7, 9 & 13) through innovation in energy harvesting, power management, and self-powered smart technologies. 🌱⚙️

📘 Mr. Xiong Dien is expected to complete his PhD studies by the end of 2026, marking another milestone in SEGi University’s journey toward fostering research excellence in renewable energy and sustainability. 🌿🔋

He is also currently serving as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Information Engineering, Chongqing Vocational and Technical University of Mechatronics, Chongqing 402760, China. 🇨🇳

Together, we continue advancing sustainable innovations in renewable energy, green technologies, and self-powered systems at SEGi University.
