Why do children like to flip, tilt, or look at things from different angles?
They may be exploring the orientation schema โ a play pattern where children are curious about perspective and position.
By changing how they view the world, children develop balance, coordination, and spatial awareness.

Our children and parents visited the PJ Recycling Plaza to learn about recycling, caring for the Earth, and how everyday actions can make a difference to our environment.
The experience ended with a hands-on terrarium workshop using recycled glass bottles, where children explored nature, textures, and creativity together with their parents ๐ฟ
Although most of our children are only between 1.5 to 3 years old, we believe that cultivation starts young. Through meaningful experiences and everyday moments, children slowly build awareness, respect, and care for the world around them.
At Poco Poco, we believe learning happens through play, exploration, and real-life experiences โ little by little, poco a poco ๐

Mixing.
Changing.
Creating something new.
These are signs of the transforming schema, where children explore how materials can transform.
Play may look messy, but itโs full of discovery.

In celebration of Earth Day, our children created their very own Earth trees using recycled paper and chia seeds.
Through this hands-on activity, children explored creativity while learning how small actions can help care for our planet. They had so much fun creating and planting alongside their teachers โจ
At Poco Poco, we believe sustainability can begin through simple everyday experiences and meaningful play.

Why do some children like lining things up so precisely?
This is often the positioning schema โ a play pattern where children explore order and arrangement.
By placing objects in rows, sorting materials, or organising items, children begin to understand patterns, structure, and relationships between objects.
Repetition helps them build clarity and confidence.

Have you noticed children throwing, dropping, or pushing objects again and again This may be the trajectory schema.
Children exploring this schema are interested in how things move through space โ up, down, across, and away.
Through this play, they are learning about:
โข movement and direction
โข force and distance
โข cause and effect
What may look like repetitive throwing is actually children testing ideas and discovering how the world works.
At Poco Poco, we create safe spaces for children to explore these natural patterns through play.
