Today's lesson 25th September 25 was to allow my students to pick an article from the News Strait Times. This are the types of benefits kids will gain :- It is indeed a very good exercise for children! Having them pick articles from the newspaper and summarise them brings several benefits across different areas of development:
📖 Language and Literacy Skills
Improves vocabulary – they encounter new words in context.
Enhances comprehension – reading real-world text helps them understand complex ideas.
Strengthens writing and speaking – summarising requires rephrasing in their own words.

Memory retention – summarising reinforces what they’ve read.
