They thought customers would come to them.
Most didn't.
So they adjusted.
They stood up.
Started conversations.
Invited people over.
Tried again.
One of the things we appreciate about the Children's Business Fair is that it places learners in situations where there isn't always an obvious answer.
Sometimes the challenge isn't the one you expected.
And that's often where the learning begins.
Join us this Sunday and meet the young people behind the booths.

Some lessons are easy to talk about.
Preparation.
Responsibility.
Following through.
Others are easier to understand after you've experienced the consequences of not doing them.
One of the things we appreciate about the ActonKL's Children's Business Fair is that it creates opportunities for those lessons to become real.
Not because adults lecture about them.
Because reality does.

From the outside, a Children's Business Fair can look like a market.
From the inside, it is often a series of decisions, mistakes, adjustments, conversations, and lessons that can't be fully understood until they're experienced.
That's part of what makes it worth doing.
And worth witnessing.
Many learning experiences end when the work is submitted.
ActonKL's Children's Business Fair is different.
An idea is only the beginning.
Then comes explaining it.
Answering questions.
Handling rejection.
Adapting.
Trying again.
Two weeks from now, you'll have the chance to meet young people stepping into that experience for themselves.

This is not a pretend market.
And parents are not the business owners.
On Sunday, 14 June 2026, 133 child entrepreneurs will run 75 businesses at the Acton Children’s Business Fair Kuala Lumpur.
They will present their products, speak to customers, answer questions, handle sales and discover what happens when their ideas meet the real world.
For one day, parents are invited to take a step back. Perhaps two. Let the children own the booth, the conversations, the challenges and the pride of running a real business.
For visitors, your role is important too: come with your family, shop from these young entrepreneurs, ask them about their products, and give them real customers to serve.
Because confidence does not grow from adults doing it for them. It grows when children are trusted to step forward.

Come shop. Bring the family. Let the children run the show.
A lot happened before the fair even started.
Forgetting things.
Sleeping late.
Realising some ideas weren’t thought through properly.
Trying to fix problems on the spot.
Not every part felt smooth or organised.
But that was part of the experience too.

Persistence rarely looks impressive while it’s happening.
It often looks like:
* repeated attempts
* frustration
* unfinished progress
* small adjustments
* trying again quietly
Most meaningful growth does not happen in a straight line.
It took more attempts than people usually see.
Falling.
Trying again.
Adjusting slightly each time.
Nobody turned it into a lesson while it was happening.
Nobody stopped the frustration immediately either.
From the outside, it was just a child trying to swing on a rope.
But moments like this carry more weight than they first appear to.
A lot is happening here besides the game itself.
Disagreement.
Negotiation.
Changing strategy halfway through.
Trying to recover after a mistake.
Nobody stepped in to solve it for them immediately.
Sometimes the most meaningful moments look very ordinary at first.

From the outside, many moments can look small.
A disagreement during a game.
A child hesitating while speaking.
Someone trying again after getting stuck.
But these moments carry weight.
Not because children are being pushed to perform.
Because they are gradually learning how to navigate situations more independently.
