APAC CFO Summit 2026 | Sydney and Melbourne

The role of the CFO is no longer just about balancing the ledger. It’s about steering business transformation, building organisational resilience, and leading strategic growth.

At the APAC CFO Summit 2026 in Sydney and Melbourne, one central message emerged: to navigate a rapidly changing economy, finance leaders must redefine how the finance function evolves over the next three to five years.

A huge thank you to our moderator, Dr. Noel Tagoe, for guiding such thought-provoking exchanges, and to our distinguished panellists:

Sydney: Laura Fenn, Aubrey Joachim FCMA, CGMA, MBA, Chand Panditharatne, and Neal Hawkins

Melbourne: Karen O’Duil, Stephen Coote, Shireen Jahan, and Ajith Abeynaike

At AICPA & CIMA, we remain committed to equipping finance leaders with the competencies, strategic mindset, and ethical foundation required to power resilient businesses.

What is the biggest shift your finance team is navigating this year?

We had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Chia‑Tern Huey Min and the ACRA leadership team in Singapore this week.

CIMA President Alfred Ramosedi, FCMA, CGMA was joined by Venkkat Ramanan, FCMA, CGMA and Saritha Subramaniam for a warm and wide‑ranging conversation on where the profession is heading. We shared findings from AICPA CIMA's Rise 2040 research, and it was striking how much common ground there is with ACRA's refreshed Skills Framework for Accountancy. Different starting points, but a shared view of the future.
Much of the discussion came back to one theme. As AI takes on more of the routine work, the real value of the profession lies in the things technology can't replicate: sound judgement, ethical reasoning, integrity, and trust. People stay at the heart of it.

Our thanks to ACRA for the leadership you're showing in building a future‑ready profession, and for such an energising exchange. We're looking forward to working together more closely to support the growth and long‑term success of the profession, and to keep Singapore firmly positioned as a leading global business hub.

President's Reception & CGMA Recognition Ceremony | Singapore

A strong professional community is built not only on qualifications, but on the people who continue to learn, lead, and contribute throughout their careers.

As part of his Southeast Asia visit, CIMA President Alfred Ramosedi joined fellow members in Singapore for an evening of connection and recognition. Accompanied by Venkkat Ramanan FCMA, CGMA, Vice President - Asia Pacific, and Saritha Subramaniam, Regional Director - Southeast Asia Markets, the event provided an opportunity to engage with members and celebrate their professional achievements.

The evening recognised our newest ACMA and FCMA members, members celebrating milestone anniversaries, and the outstanding 2025 Singapore CGMA Prize Winners. Their achievements reflect the dedication, professionalism and commitment to lifelong learning that continue to strengthen the CGMA community.

Congratulations to all those recognised. Thank you for being part of a global community that continues to shape the future of business and finance.

Great stories stay with us long after the slides are gone. In a world flooded with information, the leaders who truly connect are often the ones who can tell a story — turning a strategy into something people feel, remember, and act on.

That was the heart of a recent session led by Venkkat Ramanan FCMA CGMA, Vice President, APAC, AICPA & CIMA, on "Effective Storytelling: Transforming Presentations into Influence."

We were delighted to be invited by British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce (BMCC) to deliver this session for the 26th Cohort of the British Companies Attachment Programme (BCAP) — BMCC's flagship initiative for senior government officers in Malaysia. A big thank you to BMCC and to everyone in the room for the energy, the questions, and the conversations that made it such a rewarding exchange.

Because at the end of the day, whether you're shaping strategy, influencing a decision, or driving change, it's the human connection that turns information into real impact.

AI is transforming finance. The question is: are finance professionals ready to lead that transformation responsibly?

To address this critical topic, AICPA & CIMA partnered with Ikatan Akuntan Indonesia (IAI) to host a workshop featuring Dr Noel Tagoe, exploring the opportunities, challenges, and ethical considerations of AI adoption in finance.
The session reinforced the importance of building future-ready skills, exercising professional judgment, and ensuring AI is implemented responsibly to create value while maintaining trust.
By working together, AICPA & CIMA and IAI are helping to empower finance professionals with the insights and capabilities needed to navigate a rapidly evolving business landscape.

What AI-related skill do you believe will be most important for finance professionals in the next five years? Let us know below.

Highlights from the APAC CFO Summit | Indonesia Edition

As the final chapter of the APAC CFO Summit series across Southeast Asia, senior finance leaders from across Indonesia gathered to discuss the trends reshaping the profession and the priorities that will define its future.

The summit featured insights from Dr Noel Tagoe on advancing finance leadership in a rapidly evolving business environment. Discussions explored the key forces shaping organisations and the profession across the APAC region, while participants shared practical perspectives on navigating today's changing business landscape.

Attendees also gained valuable insights from the panel discussion, "What Finance Leaders Are Dealing with Right Now?", moderated by Dr Noel Tagoe and featuring Melisa Hendrawati, Fred Chan, William Djumadi and Puspiningrum Birsyam.

Insights gathered throughout the APAC CFO Summit series, including perspectives shared by finance leaders in Indonesia, will contribute to an upcoming white paper that will bring together regional insights and actionable recommendations for finance leaders preparing for the future of the profession.

A sincere thank you to everyone who contributed their expertise and helped make this final summit a meaningful conclusion to the series.
