Aisy Aminuddin is an 11-year-old boy born with spina bifida ♿(myelomeningocele) complicated by hydrocephalus, neurogenic bowel and bladder, and Chiari malformation type II. Despite his challenges, Aisy is known for his playful charm and bright personality. He is full of curiosity and always eager to try new things!
In October 2025, Aish became a PADI Adaptive Diver in Perhentian island assisted by his Instructor Max and our Amazing Diveheart Adaptive Team.

Aisy is currently receiving a formal education and is a Year 5 student at SK Seri Bintang Utara, Taman Shamelin Perkasa Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

Kids Scuba Malaysia is a specialized PADI 5star dive center that pioneered youth-focused diving education in Southeast Asia. Based in Kuala Lumpur, it has grown from a niche family project into an internationally recognized hub for inclusive and adaptive diving.
​➡️History and Origin
​Founder: The center was founded by Syed Abd Rahman and his wife Nadia. Their passion for the ocean began decades ago with snorkeling in Tioman, eventually leading him to become a PADI IDC Staff Instructor Trainer.
​The Spark (2002): The idea for Kids Scuba was born in 2002. His eldest daughter Nadhirah was certified as the Youngest PADI Seal Team in Malaysia. After seeing children diving abroad and witnessing his own daughter's interest and certification, Syed realized there were few dedicated opportunities for Malaysian children to learn the sport safely.
​Official Launch (2004): Kids Scuba officially began operations in 2004 in Selangor. It was one of the first diving schools in the Asia region to focus specifically on children and teenagers.
​Evolution to Inclusivity: Over the years, the mission expanded beyond children to include marginalized groups.
In 2015, they began training disabled divers, leading Syed to become an ambassador for Diveheart Malaysia, an organization dedicated to "scuba therapy."♿
​➡️Current Set Up and Facilities
​Kids Scuba operates as a PADI 5 Star Dive Center and an Adaptive Service Training Facility.
​Primary Location: They are currently based at the Tropicana Aman Recreational Hub near Rimbayu & Kota Kemuning (Another is at Bukit Gasing private Pool Bunglow).
Previously, they operated out of the Tropicana Golf Club and the Maybank Training Academy pool.
​Training Environment: The setup includes an onsite training pool and specialized classrooms designed to provide a controlled, safe environment for young learners and individuals with physical disabilities.♿
​Programs Offered:
​Youth Programs: PADI Seal Team (ages 8+), Bubblemaker, and Junior Open Water Diver.🤿
​Adaptive Diving: Specialized training for individuals with spinal cord injuries, amputations, and cognitive disabilities using PADI Adaptive Techniques.♿
​Adventure Camps: They organize "Kids Scuba Camps" three times a year during school holidays to islands like Tioman, Perhentian and Mabul in Sabah to give students real-world reef experience.
​➡️Recognition
​The center’s impact is widely recognized in the global diving community. Syed Abd Rahman was recently named an inductee for the International Scuba Diving Hall of Fame (ISDHF) 🏆 class of 2026, honoring his dedication to making the underwater world accessible to everyone.♿

Making Waves: Malaysia’s Youngest PADI Junior Open Water Diver.

​In a historic moment for Malaysian aquatic sports, Khaairav Vihant Kumaran has officially etched his name into the Malaysia Book of Records MBOR as the Youngest PADI Junior Open Water Diver in the country.
​Trained under the expert tutelage of the renowned Hj. Syed Abd Rahman (aka Uncle Syed) at Kids Scuba Dive Academy, Khairaav demonstrated maturity and skill far beyond his years. While the standard minimum age for this global certification is 10 years old, Khairaav’s journey to becoming a certified diver is a testament to his dedication, water confidence, and the specialized youth-centric training provided by Kids Scuba PADI 5star Dive centre.
➡️ ​The Journey to the Depths
​Under the guidance of Uncle Syed—a veteran PADI IDC Instructor and a global ambassador for adaptive diving—Khaairav completed a rigorous curriculum that included:
➡️ ​Knowledge Development: Mastering the physics and physiology of diving.
➡️ ​Confined Water Sessions: Refining essential safety skills in a controlled environment.
➡️ ​Open Water Dives: Successfully navigating the ocean depths to a maximum depth of 12 meters.

PADI Programs for Kids with Kids Scuba Dive Academy, PADI 5star Dive centre in Petaling Jaya.

​Depending on your child's age, we offer the following progression:
​Bubblemaker (Age 8+): A fun, shallow-water (max 2m) introduction to breathing underwater. No prior experience needed.

​PADI Seal Team (Age 8+): An action-packed pool program where kids complete 5 "AquaMissions" to learn basic scuba skills and environmental awareness.

​Junior Open Water Diver (Age 10-14): The full certification course, but with depth limits (max 12m for ages 10-11). It automatically upgrades to a standard Open Water certification when they turn 15.

PADI Seal Team AquaMissions are fun, action-packed pool dives for kids (8+) learning basic scuba skills, with the first five missions earning them PADI Seal Team membership, while Master Seal Team offers 10 specialty missions like night diving, wreck exploring, and underwater photography, all using real gear for an exciting introduction to diving in a safe, controlled environment.
