The British International School Kuala Lumpur BSKL provides exceptional education to students aged 2 - 18 years old. From EYFS to Sixth Form.

The British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) was founded in 2009 in response to demand from the local and international community. BSKL offers contemporary British international education from Early Years to Sixth form, to children aged 2-18 years, in its state-of-the-art campus in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. BSKL follows the English National Curriculum, enhanced to meet international and

local requirements, offering a robust IGCSE and A Level programme. BSKL is a fully licensed international school, approved by the Malaysian Ministry of Education, with the following additional accreditations:
Council of British International Schools (COBIS), Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA), University of Cambridge International Examinations, and edexel. A recent inspection from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), graded BSKL “excellent” in all areas of provision. SUKMA 2026 gold medallist, Sasha 🥇

Sasha secured Selangor’s only gold medal in track and field, winning the discus event at this year’s Games. A BSKL student since Reception, we’ve watched Sasha grow from a young athlete representing BSKL to breaking records, winning medals and now making history for Selangor at SUKMA.

And she’s done it while balancing Year 13, training, competitions and everything in between. With Merdeka month upon us, it’s incredibly special to see a young Malaysian athlete achieving so much on the local and national stage 🇲🇾

BSKL students have been busy throughout the summer. While some enjoyed the holidays, others were taking part in various academic competitions held during the summer break. And we are happy to announce that our achievements have been stellar.

- Kangaroo Maths Malaysia x10 medals, including x4 Gold
- SiL English National Competition x10 medals, including x7 Gold, the highest score in Malaysia and all students qualified for the Global Final in the UK
- Asia Spell Bee in Shanghai x1 Gold medal
- Singapore International Maths Olympiad Challenge Global Final x1 Gold and x1 Bronze medal
- Teen Eagle Maths Global Final in London x11 medals, including x8 Gold
- World Scholars Cup Global Final x13 students qualified for Yale University Tournament, 3rd + 4th placed teams, 4th + 10th placed individual students

BSKL's campus was buzzing with excitement, anticipation and even some nervousness, as students flocked to the school for Welcome Day, as well as the first day of Term 1.

They were greeted by Principal Ms Vanessa Whay, Head of Primary Mr Simon Clarke and Head of Secondary Mr Jeffrey Ison, as well as their respective teachers and tutors, to begin their first lessons, make new friends, and getting used to the school routine.

At BSKL, making an impact matters, even on the first day back at school. We hope the students have lots of stories to tell about their first day when they are back with their parents!
