Most of us were never taught how to express what we need.

Some of us learnt to stay quiet because we didn’t want to cause inconvenience to others.

Others hoped people would “just know.”

But healthy communication isn’t about staying silent or expecting others to read our minds. It’s about expressing needs clearly and respectfully.

One simple tool we teach our speakers:

We often tell children, “Be confident.”

But the truth is….confidence doesn’t always just magically appear.

It grows through small moments….trying, making mistakes, feeling nervous, and choosing to try again.

What we see is confidence.

What we don’t see are all the little steps that helped build it.

As parents, it’s easy to praise the result. But children grow the most when we notice their effort, courage, and willingness to keep going.

When we celebrate the process, confidence follows naturally.
