In collaboration with PEN Malaysia, ReformARTsi is hosting a panel discussion at this year’s KL Art Book Fair! Come hear from Jo Kukathas (The Instant Café Theatre Company), Wen Di Sia (Gerimis Art Project), Gayathri Santhi-McBain (PEN Malaysia) and our very own Aishah Shafiq from the ReformARTsi Secretariat about their experiences as writers, researchers and advocates, the challenges they face and the changes they are fighting for. What does “Seni Untuk Semua” mean to them? What are their hopes for Malaysia’s art and culture, its diverse communities, its future?

Drop by to learn more about ReformARTsi’s petition campaign and what role you can play in pushing for a more inclusive and just arts and culture ecosystem in Malaysia! There will also be a Q&A session with the audience.

ReformARTsi Calls for Increased and Consistent National Spending on Malaysia’s Arts and Culture

“Beginning with Budget 2026, it is vital to develop a more strategic investment in preserving Malaysia’s multiple histories and heritage; inculcating citizens with invaluable skills geared towards participatory democracy like critical thinking and creativity; upholding and celebrating the diversity of Malaysia’s society; build audiences for the arts; and empowering Malaysia’s youth and workforce with a sense of identity and creativity.”
