We wrapped up our FinWHIZ workshop for ages 5–7 yesterday 🎉

Thank you to all the parents who trusted us and brought your children. It was really nice to see the kids actively participating in the activities and learning together.

We’re grateful for the support and excited to continue growing FinWHIZ step by step.

More moments from the workshop will be shared soon.

Financial empowerment starts at home, and it starts early. 🏠

✨ Here are three simple ways to help your child during this critical window:

🔹 Use Clear Jars:
Label them Saving, Spending, and Giving. Let them physically see their savings grow! It builds a powerful visual connection to progress. Our founder Amelia Hong actually did this with her own kids from them being 4 years old. 🔥

🔹 The "Wait" Rule:
If they want a toy, have them wait 24 hours or a week. This simple pause strengthens the "muscle" for delayed gratification. Amelia had a lot of friends said she was cruel to her kids😅 but its a worthy endeavour!

🔹 Needs vs. Wants:
Turn grocery runs into a game! Ask them, "Is ice cream a need or a want?" It’s a fun way to start the conversation or to hear the creative excuses the children come up with😂😂😂

Teaching our kids about money isn't just about math; it's about giving them the freedom to make better choices for their future. 🌟

**Let’s raise a generation that is financially confident and secure.** 💪📈

👧🏻You Know Your Child’s Money Habits are "Set" by Age 7?** 🧠💰

It sounds surprising, but a research from the University of Cambridge shows that by the time a child is just 7 years old, their foundational financial habits—like delayed gratification and the ability to plan ahead—are already formed.

In fact, a 2026 study from the University of Michigan found that by age 5, children already have distinct emotional reactions to spending and saving.

Gosh, If we wait until the teenage years to start the money talk, we’re already playing catch-up.

The "Critical Window" for building a healthy financial blueprint is happening **right now.** so join us coming
April 25th at 10am in our office at Starling Mall (check out our post below for more details)

Here’s what some of the children shared after their FinWHIZ session 😊

11/04/2026

FinWHIZ was developed by Amelia Hong, Randall Sta Maria, and Sharon Lau after many years of working with adults on financial planning and investment decisions.

Through their experience supporting individuals, families, and high-net-worth clients, they saw how important it is for financial understanding to begin earlier in life.

With the support of the FinAIMS team, FinWHIZ brings these ideas to younger learners through structured and age-appropriate sessions designed to help children build confidence with money from an early age.

We look forward to sharing more moments from our FinWHIZ sessions here.
