The Malaysian education ecosystem should be digitalised like the British IGCSE, Pearson Edexcel or AQA where all syllabus documents, past-year papers and Mark Schemes are digitalised and easily obtainable/accessible online free of any charges by all. The current Malaysian system is too primitive and behind time as the past-year papers are only sold/obtainable in hardcopy booklet forms from book shops which I have to visit atleast 5 times before they were available for sale in the reputable bookshop (SBL of Petaling Jaya, Selangor) just about 1 or 2 months before the formal SPM 2024 exams under KSSM syllabus this year. So, if I am facing this difficulty in highly urban and intectual area of PJ, those in rural or remote areas would probably have greater difficulty in accessing/buying the past-year papers in booklet forms before their formal exams. This laughable weakness of our education ecosystem can be overcome by digitalisation and greater use of ICT in our edu-ecosystem like what the British system has done. What is the point of spending billions if the systen remains largely primitive...?

Malaysian Education system should adopt the good practices of other established educational systems, for example, the exams syllabus say for SPM and STPM should be clearly specified and defined in syllabus documents which are easily accessible and downloadable online like those of the British IGCSE/CIE, Edexcel Pearson Int'l GCSE, AQA,... - Similarly, all past year papers/questions and mark schemes/answers should also be easily accesible and downloadable online just like the British systems. Specimen Papers should be provided in the syllabus documents when a revised syllabus is issued say from KBSM to KSSM. The British system has proven to work very well and fairly for candidates from all parts - urban or rural, rich or poor - of the globe. Currently, I wonder how many rural or poor Malaysian students have access to past year papers/questions booklets which are mainly, if not only, sold and obtainable at bookshops in urban areas. If past year papers/questions are accessible online free of any charges (like the British system), rich or poor, urban or rural students all have equal free access to them - that is levelling the playing or education field for all. There is much that we can learn from the British education system and we should have no hesitation learning from the good practices done elsewhere that can help in the educational pursuit of our kids and future generations of our nation!
