Lé Masters students to gain with collaborations with major players
Six companies, 275 outlets in five countries – opportunities are boundless for Lé Masters School of Hospitality & Culinary Arts students.
Saito University College had on May 19, 2022 signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) with six established food outlets that have branches in Indonesia, Singapore, China, Australia and also throughout Malaysia.
With the MoU inked, students will gain employment skills as they are placed at the outlets under the Work Integrated Learning process and at the same time stand to earn between RM700 and RM1,400 a month.
Dean of Le Masters, TS Dr Zahar Ali who witnessed the signing ceremony between representatives of the companies and Saito UC vice-chancellor Professor Dr Vinitha Guptan held at Kampus Saito in Cheras said students will be monitored and taught the trade by coaches from within the industry.
“They will work under the guidance of highly experienced operations managers, chefs and F&B managers at the respective outlets,” said Dr Zahar adding that the students will be taught from A to Z on running a business.
“They will be even taught administration and how to become entrepreneurs when they completed their studies and probably have the opportunity to co-own outlets of these establishments.”
Dr Zahar promised that this is not the end of collaborations but a beginning as many companies have expressed their interests in working closely with Le Masters.
The MoU is also an opportunity for staff and immediate family members of the participating companies to further their studies at a premier institute of higher learning.
“We will be offering scholarships or special rates to the staff and their children to sharpen their skills in culinary arts and hospitality,” he said.
