It’s nice to nip out of my teaching shoes and enjoy a cheeky spot of accompaniment, even if only for a day.

Congratulations to the young violinists I accompanied today at the Euroasia Competition 2025 – International Grand Finals (Strings Division).

Ages 9–10 Division 🥇 First Prize — Sven Yeok Hao Jie

Ages 13–14 Division 🥉 Joint Third Prize — San Choi

(San is my piano student who also plays the violin excellently. 😉)

Heartiest congratulations to both young musicians — it was a privilege to share the platform with them.

This morning, two of my students participated in the Euroasia Preliminary Rounds in Kuala Lumpur and were awarded top prizes for their performances.

I am pleased to extend my heartfelt congratulations to:

San Choi (violin) — Gold Prize 🥇
Euroasia Strings Competition, Ages 13–14 Division

Johnson Guo (piano) — Silver Prize 🥈
Malaysian Piano Competition, Ages 11–12 Division

These accomplishments are the result of their sustained dedication to musical excellence. They have committed themselves to many hours of lessons and practice, and I am very pleased to see their hard work bear fruit.

Last Thursday, we had the great pleasure of experiencing the Wind & Strings Duo in concert at Deciso Fine Violins.

Together, Anton Isselhardt and Pongpat Pongpradit guided us on a musical journey spanning the entire American continent, weaving together the diverse sounds and cultures found along the Pan-American Highway. 🌎

✨🎹 Students' Piano Recital 2025 🎹✨

Last Saturday, the Festival Hall at Yamaha Music Headquarters in Kelana Jaya came alive with piano music.

Many of my students took to the stage in our annual Students’ Piano Recital, celebrating their musical growth and achievements over the past year.

I could not have been prouder to watch each and every one of them share their love for music with friends and family in the audience.
