Some opportunities are worth saving for later. This isn’t one of them.

The upcoming Nursing intake at the University of South Wales has a competitive application process, and successful applicants will need to move quickly through the next stages once shortlisted.

That means having your application properly prepared before the window opens, not starting from scratch when everyone else is applying.

If Nursing is genuinely the career you want, and you’re ready to commit to the application process, now is the time to get your documents and application in order.

UKEC Malaysia can support you with the university application process and help you prepare ahead of opening.

Hear directly from Jenny Gonzalez Hogg, University of York’s Chevening Champion, on what to consider when preparing your application, planning your timeline and choosing your Master’s options, with time set aside for your questions during the live Q&A.

UKEC Malaysia has supported past Chevening scholars with their UK university applications, from identifying suitable Master’s programmes to application preparation and follow-up.

Nothing brings Malaysians together quite like a heated debate about food. 🌶️🇲🇾

We asked our UKEC Malaysia team to share their favourite Malaysian comfort foods and their Merdeka wishes and of course, a few controversial food opinions made their way into the conversation. 👀

From Laksa Sarawak and Nasi Kerabu to someone calling Nasi Lemak “overrated” 🫣, one thing we can probably agree on is that food is a big part of what makes home feel like home.

Merdeka is also a reminder of independence, growth and the freedom to shape our own path. For students preparing to study abroad, that journey can mark a new kind of independence too, adapting to a new environment, making new connections and learning to walk through life away from home.

And while studying abroad may take you thousands of kilometres away, there are always little ways to stay connected to Malaysia, whether that is joining a Malaysian student society, cooking your favourite dishes with friends or hunting down the closest Malaysian restaurant. 🍜

As many of our students prepare for their own education journey this September, we hope everyone gets to spend some time with family, enjoy their favourite local food and celebrate what makes Malaysia special.

Selamat Hari Merdeka from all of us at UKEC Malaysia! 🇲🇾✨

If you were studying abroad, what is the ONE Malaysian dish you would miss the most? Drop your hot takes below. 👇

Getting your course choices and personal statement ready is only part of the application journey. Your reference is another important piece that is worth thinking about early. 📚

Whether you’re preparing for 2027 undergraduate entry through UCAS or planning a postgraduate application, giving yourself enough time to organise the right referee can help keep your application on track.

UKEC Malaysia can support you throughout your application journey, from exploring your options to preparing your application and beyond. 🇬🇧

You might already know what you want to study in the UK but explaining why you’re a strong fit for that course is a different challenge. 👀🇬🇧

For 2027 applicants, your UCAS Personal Statement is your chance to give universities more context beyond your grades and show the thinking, experiences and motivation behind your course choice.

And if you’re aiming for an early-deadline course, leaving it until the last minute can make an already competitive application much more stressful.

Join our upcoming webinar and start building your application with a clearer idea of what universities are looking for.

Finishing the UK Bar is one milestone. Figuring out what comes next can be a very different journey. ⚖️🇬🇧

For this session, we’re joined by UKEC alumna Suki Lim, who went on to build her career in London after completing the Bar.

Her experience isn’t a promise that studying the Bar automatically leads to a job in the UK and that’s exactly why we think her story is worth hearing.

Suki will share the decisions she made along the way, the challenges behind the outcome, what she learnt navigating life after Bar school and what aspiring Bar students should start thinking about much earlier.

If you’re currently considering the UK Bar, already studying law or wondering what career possibilities could realistically look like after graduation, come with your questions 💬

Beyond the session, UKEC Malaysia can also help you explore all 9 UK Bar schools, compare your options and understand the application journey based on your own goals and profile.

Your offer letter is secured. Your accommodation is sorted. And yes, you’re probably already looking at flights to the UK. 👀✈️

But if your UK Student visa is still being processed, hold off on booking a non-refundable flight.

Visa delays can happen, and booking too early could mean extra change or cancellation costs. If you need to book in advance, consider a flexible or refundable fare and check the airline’s conditions carefully.

Once your visa is approved, remember to check the valid-from date before confirming your travel plans. 🇬🇧

Preparing for your move to the UK? UKEC Malaysia is here to support you through the next steps of your study journey.

Save this for your pre-departure checklist or share it with a friend waiting for their student visa.

Your flight is booked. Your university place is confirmed. 🇬🇧✈️
Now comes the part no offer letter really prepares you for: actually living in the UK.

How much should you budget each month? What should you pack? How does healthcare work? Where should you stay and what should you sort out before you land?

If you’re heading to the UK this year, join UKEC Malaysia’s Study UK Pre-Departure Briefing 2026 for practical guidance to help you feel more prepared before the big move and parents are welcome too.

Results Day comes and suddenly the plan you had in mind doesn’t look quite as straightforward.

Maybe direct entry didn’t work out. Maybe the English-language requirement has become another hurdle. But that doesn’t always mean your UK study plan has to stop there.

An International Year One (IYO) could offer another route, providing students with additional academic and English-language support before progressing to Year 2 upon meeting the required criteria.

For students wondering, “What can I do now?” and parents trying to help work out the next step, UKEC Malaysia can help you explore suitable IYO options, progression routes and English-language requirements based on your individual profile.

Your starting point may look different from what you first planned, but the goal can still be the same. 🇬🇧

Speak to a UKEC Malaysia education counsellor and explore what options may still be available to you.
