🌟 From Tiny Steps to Big Leaps - Leia Jasmine Joins the National Artistic Gymnastics Team! 🇲🇾💫

There was once a bright-eyed 6 year-old who cried when she first walked into TJSGA in Jan 2019. Leia Jasmine Shahrin - small in size, but already showing signs of a big spirit.

She began with just 2x/wk of training. By Q2 of that same year, she was already training 3x/wk, then 4x/wk by Q3. It didn’t take long for us to see that this little girl had something special.

In Apr 2019, Leia bravely competed in her very first competition - Sirkit Remaja, and came home with a Team Gold 🥇. At just 6, she also took part in a 4D3N state exchange training in Johor, showing the courage and drive of a gymnast far beyond her age.

Then the pandemic hit, and like many, we were forced to adapt. With our gym closed, we shifted to online training, working through screens to keep the momentum going. We even trained in a botanical garden, doing whatever we could to keep the training momentum going. Through it all, Leia kept showing up, committed, determined, and focused.

Over the years, Leia has grown into a formidable gymnast, representing TJSGA & KL at state, national, and international levels, collecting medals and memories along the way. Her discipline, humility, and hard work never wavered. And now, the little girl who once cried walking into the gym, is walking into a new chapter.

We are beyond proud to share that Leia has been officially selected to join the National Artistic Gymnastics Team, and will report in this 1 July 2025. 🇲🇾✨

This is not just Leia’s achievement, it’s a moment of pride for her amazing parents, her dedicated coaches, especially Coach Saiful, and everyone who has walked alongside her journey in ways big and small.

Leia’s story is a testament that growth isn’t always loud, and strength doesn’t always start with confidence. Sometimes, greatness begins with a few tears, a timid step, and the courage to keep coming back.

To all our gymnasts at TJSGA, we hope Leia’s journey remind you that every dream starts with a first day, and every champion was once a beginner.

A friendly visit by coaches all the way from Perlis (Coach Faiz), Kedah (Coach Eddy), and Pahang (Coach Bill) to our gym today. We had a great sharing session and looking forward to all potential collaboration opportunities.
