You cannot win a lottery or contest if you have not entered it. It's nearly always a fraud if someone demands payment in advance in order for you to obtain a prize or prizes. Genuine lotteries don't charge a fee for winnings collection.

Here are three signs of a prize scam:

1. You must pay to get your prize. But real prizes are
free.
2. They say paying increases your odds of winning.
But real sweepstakes are free and winning is by
chance.
3. You must give your financial information.

Advance Free Fraud

Its is the type of fraud where businesses or individuals are required to pay a fee before receiving promised stocks, cryptocurrencies, services, money, or products. Which at the end you won’t get it. You will receive a letter, fax or an email but nowadays u will get it on Whatsapp, Facebook, Messenger, WeChat, Instagram, Viber and many other social media networks. This type of scam is popular in many countries.

Where can u mostly see it?

The most common place where you can see that is in Facebook groups. The message will be uploaded by random users where they will ask you to pay small amount of gas fees or delivery fees just to get that product. For example, in cryptocurrency groups, they will ask you to pay 0.011 Binance coin (which is less than $4) to receive an amount of 7.4 Binance coin (which is around $2100).

Who can be affected by this scam?

Relating to the above example: People who have traded cryptocurrencies before know the pain of losing money. Most of the people want to recover their losses and get their money back. Some thought of leaving cryptocurrency as soon as they get their money back. Therefore, if they find this type of thing online, they thought that it’s their opportunity and get involved in this. Trust me!! You will only lose more money.

How to avoid it?

Ignore all the unknown messages u get from the above-mentioned social media networks. Mostly the messages without context and promising you with high returns, just ignore it. ONLY trade with the trusted teams or people.

ONLY trade with the trusted teams or people. Remember to check their background history and proofs. Talk to people who have tried it before and choose the one they recommend. Remember, main goal for the fraudster is to get your money so maintain your control. Do proper research first before getting involved in anything.
