We have asked several questions to the owner of Padang Telela Goat and Sheep Farm to obtain various information to complete some of the data we need in carrying out the community service assignment activities (SULAM).

Week 4: Updating UNIMAP Permission letter.

During the period of this week, our team continued to make progress in obtaining the necessary permits from our faculty of Business and Communication to move our project forward.

While we can’t share specific information of our partnership publicly, we wanted to assure our partnership farming projects, Padang Telela goat and sheep farms, that we are actively working on it under an authorised contract from our University.

Ensuring all necessary information is included whilst adhering to University of Malaysia Perlis guidelines. We understand that clear and complete communication is essential in the permitting process in completing this project.

Week 3: Contacting Potential Partners

We are excited to start our project to partner with Perlis agro-tourism businesses and help them develop their digital marketing strategies! This week we started contacting potential partners for phone numbers we found on business websites.

In our first interview, we contacted an owner of Padang Telela Goat and Sheep Farm who runs a small goat and sheep farm based on the phone number listed on his website. We sent a message outlining ourselves and our business goals. Here is a screenshot of the conversation.

This week we learned the importance of having a clear and concise introduction when communicating with potential partners. We will look to refine our messaging to emphasize the benefits to our industry and how it can help their business.

Week 2: Initial Contact

This week we kicked off our project in Perlis by reaching out to potential agricultural entrepreneurs We found a few businesses we were interested in, such as Ladang Nipah Kipli, FF Harmony Bee Farm, and Perlis Herbal One, and got started contacted them through various channels, such as phone calls, emails and social media messages.

We faced some challenges on our hands from some business owners. It appears that some of the contact information we found online may not be up to date.

The need for more points of contact with potential partners. In the future, we will try to track email addresses, social media pages, and physical addresses in addition to phone numbers.

In the next steps, we will continue to pursue the businesses we have already contacted and try to reach out to a few with the aforementioned alternatives. We hope to schedule some preliminary meetings with potential partners next week!
