Ever wonder why you feel squished underwater or why balloons pop? That’s pressure in action, and it’s all around us!
Pressure is EVERYWHERE in our lives, even if we don’t always see it, and it’s more powerful than you might think!
When you blow up a balloon, the air you add creates pressure inside, stretching the balloon until it’s ready to pop!
In physics, pressure is the force applied over an area. The more force on a smaller area, the more intense the pressure becomes!
Think about the deep ocean. Down there, pressure gets so intense that it could crush you in seconds! That’s why submarines are built with thick, strong walls.
Even everyday objects feel pressure. Ever crushed a can? That’s a classic example of pressure in action – force changing the shape of something solid.
Atmospheric pressure is pressing down on us constantly from every direction, but we don’t even feel it most of the time.
At high altitudes, like on tall mountains, pressure is lower, making it harder to breathe.
Scientists study pressure to understand how materials react under stress, and it’s a big part of weather predictions and space exploration too!
