🎶 And just like that, Recital Week 2026 has come to an end. 🎶

What an incredible 5 days it has been. ❤️

More than 600 students and parents came together to experience our smaller-scale, more intimate performances, held continuously for 5 days in a row at Higher Ground

For us, Recital Week is not just about getting on stage and performing. It is about building confidence, creating memories, supporting one another, and giving every student the opportunity to experience what it feels like to be a performer.

From the first nervous step onto the stage to the final note of each performance — we are so proud of every single student who took part. 👏

A huge thank you to all our parents, teachers, students, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who made this week possible.

People always ask “Should I get an acoustic drum or an electronic drum?”

If your goal is simply to play quietly at home, an electronic drum does the job.

But if your goal is to become a better drummer, I would still recommend an acoustic drum whenever possible.

An acoustic drum teaches you things that an electronic kit simply can’t replicate:

• How to control your dynamics instead of relying on volume settings.

• How every hit changes the tone depending on where and how you strike the drum.

• How to develop proper touch, feel, and rebound.

• How to tune your ears, not just your drums.

Playing an acoustic kit also prepares you for the real world. Whether you’re performing at church, in a band, at a concert, or recording in a studio, chances are you’ll be playing an acoustic drum set.

Electronic drums are a great tool for practice, especially when noise is an issue. But if you have the space and the opportunity, nothing replaces the experience of sitting behind a real drum kit.

At the end of the day, drums are more than just hitting pads. They’re about creating sound, expressing emotion, and feeling every note you play.

That’s something you’ll only truly understand when you play an acoustic drum.

Initially, our customer visited Genesis Music with the intention of purchasing a Squier. However, after spending some time comparing different instruments, the exceptional craftsmanship, playability, and tone of a Fender left a lasting impression.

While the Squier offered excellent value, the Fender provided a level of refinement and musical response that ultimately resonated with the player’s needs and aspirations.
