CoR-SPEED ENGAGE Successfully Connects Participants Worldwide!
The Centre of Research, Sustainable Professional Education for Excellent Development (CoR-SPEED), Faculty of Technical and Vocational Education (FPTV), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) successfully organised another session of CoR-SPEED ENGAGE on 15 September 2026, featuring the topic:
“AI-Enhanced Active Learning in Higher Education for Promoting Students’ Critical Thinking and Meaningful Engagement.”
The online session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Abd Karim Alias, Principal Fellow, Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), who shared valuable insights on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be meaningfully integrated into active learning to strengthen students’ critical thinking, participation, and meaningful engagement in higher education.
🎉 The session received an excellent response, attracting hundreds participants from Malaysia and abroad, reflecting the growing interest among educators, researchers, and higher education practitioners in exploring purposeful and pedagogically meaningful applications of AI in teaching and learning.
The engaging session also provided participants with opportunities to reflect on the evolving role of educators in an AI-enhanced learning environment and the importance of designing learning experiences that encourage students to think, interact, question, collaborate, and actively construct knowledge, rather than merely relying on technology.
CoR-SPEED extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Dr. Abd Karim Alias for generously sharing his knowledge and experience, as well as to all local and international participants whose active participation contributed to the success of the programme.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to the next CoR-SPEED ENGAGE session as we continue creating a platform for knowledge sharing, professional learning, and innovative practices in education.
Thank you for making this session a great success! 🌏🎓💡
