The Story of Qu YuanLong ago, in the Warring States period of China, there was a brilliant and patriotic poet and minister named Qu Yuan (屈原). He loved his state of Chu deeply and wanted to protect it from corrupt officials and enemy states. However, the king of Chu didn't listen to his good advice and instead banished him. Devastated and heartbroken when he learned that his beloved homeland was invaded and captured by enemies, Qu Yuan threw himself into the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. The local people, who admired and loved him greatly, raced out in long boats to save him, but it was too late. To prevent the fish and evil spirits from eating his body, the villagers threw balls of sticky rice into the river and beat drums on their boats to scare the creatures away.Today, this tragic yet touching story is commemorated every year through the Dragon Boat Festival (端午节)，where people race dragon boats and eat traditional sticky rice dumplings called Zongzi (粽子) to honor Qu Yuan's legacy of loyalty and patriotism. For a visually engaging, storybook-style animated summary of the Qu Yuan legend.
