UET Explores Collaboration with High Commission of the Republic of Maldives

14 August 2026 β€” UTHM Education and Training Sdn. Bhd. (UET) held a meeting with representatives from the High Commission of the Republic of Maldives to explore potential collaboration in education, training, tourism and aviation.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Abbas Adil Riza, Trade Representative; Mr. Ahmad Shahid, First Secretary; and Mr. Hassam Hassan Maumoon, First Secretary, together with UET representatives, Mrs Hanita and Mrs Elyya.

Key areas discussed included TVET and culinary training, AI training for teachers, student mobility and tourism, as well as PPL training opportunities.

The meeting marked a positive step towards strengthening educational and training collaboration between UTHM and Maldives.

Satu sesi perbincangan dan tinjauan telah diadakan bersama LEA Academy bagi meneroka potensi kerjasama strategik serta peluang penyertaan ekuiti dalam EduCity International College (EIC). Perbincangan ini turut melibatkan pihak UTHM Education & Training Sdn. Bhd. (UET) yang diwakili oleh Tn. Haji Abdul Halim bin Abdul Rahman, CEO UTHM Holdings Sdn. Bhd., Prof. Madya Dr. Siti Sarah Omar, General Manager UET dan Pn. Hanita Sakiran. Pihak LEA Academy p**a diwakili oleh Mr. Jerold Yap.

Antara fokus utama adalah potensi pengambilan pelajar antarabangsa, program Bahasa Inggeris sebagai laluan pengajian akademik serta pengembangan pasaran EIC. Perbincangan turut meneroka cadangan pelaburan saham/pegangan ekuiti oleh LEA Academy sebagai asas hubungan strategik jangka panjang.

Secara keseluruhannya, sesi ini menunjukkan potensi positif untuk memperkukuh EIC sebagai platform pendidikan antarabangsa serta meningkatkan enrolmen dan pasaran pelajar antarabangsa.

UTHM Education & Training (UET) telah mengadakan sesi pembentangan dan perbincangan bersama Institut Dato’ Onn (IDO) pada 4 Ogos 2026, bagi membincangkan pelaksanaan Program ONN Leadership Accelerator X Johor Apprentice (OLAXJA) 2026.

Perbincangan memberi fokus kepada pelaksanaan program, pengisian modul kepimpinan serta pembangunan kompetensi peserta dalam usaha membentuk generasi pemimpin muda Johor yang berdaya saing, berwibawa dan bersedia menerajui masa depan.
