ISI is organizing its upcoming Academic Training on Islamic Science Research (ATHAR) as part of its continuing effort to encourage and strengthen research in Islamic Science.

ATHAR aims to provide a space for researchers to explore research approaches grounded in the Islamic worldview, strengthen the integration of Naqli and Aqli knowledge, and develop research that is relevant to contemporary realities and contributes meaningfully to society.

Our sincere appreciation to our ISI Associate Fellows for spearheading this initiative.

[Merdeka is more than a celebration. It is about giving meaning to independence through gratitude, responsibility, and service to the nation. Salam Merdeka]

InshaAllah, this October, we will embark on Mukim Ilmu, a collaborative programme between the Center for Islam in the Contemporary World (CICW) and the Islamic Science Institute (ISI), USIM.

We invite promising students and emerging youth leaders to join distinguished professors and scholars for four days of intellectual engagement on Islam, Muslims, and the contemporary world.

The name Mukim Ilmu carries a meaning that reflects the spirit of the programme. Rooted in the Malay concept of mukim, from the Arabic muqīm (مقيم), meaning to reside or stay, Mukim Ilmu is conceived as an intellectual retreat, a temporary dwelling in the pursuit of knowledge. It creates a space to engage deeply with ideas, deliberate with scholars and peers, and reflect on our responsibilities towards the Ummah and the world we inhabit.
