✨ Water is Our Superpower! ✨

Today in science class, our 4-year-olds learned how water helps our bodies run, jump, and play. To make drinking water even more fun, we became little chefs.
The children used their hands and senses to mix fresh apples, oranges, and blueberries into their cups.

They loved watching the water change color and taste yummy. When children get to build their own healthy snacks, they are much more excited to try them. Ask your little scientist what fruit they chose today! 🍎🍊🫐

Our classroom has been very quiet and patient as we watched our tiny pupa. Today, the wait was finally over as we got to witness first hand as our butterfly finally emerged. It is one thing to read about life cycles in a book, but seeing it happen right in front of our eyes is a lesson these little scientists will never forget!

What happens when we leave bread in a warm, dark place? Our kindergarteners are finding out! We’ve been documenting the changes as our bread goes from "fresh" to "fuzzy."

We are practicing our observation skills—looking at colors, shapes, and patterns (without touching, of course!). It’s a great lesson on how tiny microbes live in the world around us.

Mapping Out the Miracle🐣
In Kindergarten, we use our "eyes" to learn. This week, we are using life cycle picture cards and our classroom chart to track exactly what is happening inside the egg. It’s so much fun watching the kids match the cards to the days on our calendar. We’re becoming experts on every stage, from the tiny embryo to the final crack of the shell.

Ever wonder where your sweater comes from? Our kindergarteners are finding out. Today we used our matching charts to connect animals to the materials they provide.

We learned that:
Sheep give us warm wool for our mittens 🐑➡️🧶
Cow give us leather 🐮➡️🧤
Chicken provide feathers 🐥➡️🪶

It’s so much fun watching the lightbulb moments as the students realize their clothes started out on a farm!

Exploring Dimensions: 2D to 3D Shapes 🟦➡️🧊

Our students spent time today transforming flat paper cutouts into 3D shapes. It was a great way to visualize how geometry works in the real world.

The class practiced building:
Cylinders from circles 🥫
Cubes from squares 📦
Cones and Pyramids from triangles 📐

It’s amazing to see how much they can build with just paper and a little bit of folding. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️
