NILAI UNIVERSITY AMONG MALAYSIA'S TOP EIGHT DBP RESEARCH GRANT RECIPIENTS.

Out of more than 600 research proposals submitted nationwide, only eight projects were selected for the prestigious Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Research Grant 2026. We are proud that a collaborative research project involving Nilai University is one of them, making it the only project representing Malaysia's private higher education sector.

The research explores how artificial intelligence is influencing the use of the Malay language among Generation Z, contributing valuable insights to ensure the national language continues to evolve and remain relevant in the age of AI.

Congratulations to Dr. Muhammad Izzuddin Zainuddin, lecturer from the Faculty of Business, and the entire research team on this outstanding achievement. Your dedication reflects Nilai University's commitment to research that addresses real-world challenges and creates meaningful impact for society.

DRIVING THE FUTURE OF AI IN BIOTECHNOLOGY.

As artificial intelligence continues to reshape biotechnology, Nilai University is proud to be part of the conversations shaping the future.

Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Ng Shee Ping, Dean of the Faculty of Intelligent Healthcare Technologies, was invited to speak at the Roundtable Discussion on AI and Biotechnology: Shaping the Future of Research, Industry and the Bioeconomy, held at MILA on 18 June 2026.

Her presentation, "Navigating the Future of Biotechnology in the Age of AI," explored how artificial intelligence is accelerating research, transforming healthcare, and redefining biotechnology education. The roundtable also brought together leaders from academia, research institutions, industry and the Bioeconomy Corporation to discuss the future of the biotechnology ecosystem.

At Nilai University, we are committed to equipping students with the knowledge, skills and industry insights needed to thrive in an AI-driven world while contributing to the advancement of biotechnology and healthcare.

FROM THE SKY TO THE CLASSROOM.

A retired aircraft engine has found a new mission, helping shape the next generation of aviation professionals at Nilai University.

We are honoured to receive a German-made Austro AE300/E4-C Jet Fuel Piston Engine, formerly powering a Diamond DA42 aircraft, contributed by Mr. Chris Birrell and presented by Ir. Dr. Adj. Prof. Ricky Liew, Adjunct Professor of the Faculty of Aviation Engineering.

While it may no longer take to the skies, the engine will now become a valuable hands-on learning tool, allowing students to study modern aircraft piston engine technology using real industry equipment.

The handover ceremony was held at the Nilai University Hangar on 20 July 2026, where Dr. Song Kuok Thong, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs), officially received the engine together with its Engine Maintenance Manual.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Chris Birrell, Ir. Dr. Adj. Prof. Ricky Liew and SR Aviation Sdn Bhd for this meaningful contribution. Together, we're creating richer learning experiences and preparing graduates who are ready for the aviation industry.

LEARNING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, ONE SMILE AT A TIME.

Education goes beyond the classroom. It is about inspiring compassion, building meaningful connections, and making a positive impact in the communities we serve.

The Faculty of Education and Humanities recently visited Beacon Learning and Training Centre (BLTC) as part of a University Social Responsibility (USR) initiative. Led by Dr. Jasmine See, students from the Master of Education, Master of Arts in Education and PhD programmes organised interactive game stations, performed a special song, and spent quality time with the children before presenting a donation of stationery to support their learning.

At Nilai University, we believe that great educators are shaped not only by knowledge, but also by empathy, service and a genuine desire to give back. Experiences like these help our students develop the values and real-world understanding needed to create lasting impact wherever they go.

A sincere thank you to Bethany Learning and Training Centre for the warm welcome. We look forward to many more opportunities to learn, serve and grow together.

A TASTE OF CHINA. A WORLD OF LEARNING.

What happens when culture meets the classroom? You get an experience that goes far beyond lectures.

From traditional kite making, paper cutting and tie-dye to Chinese calligraphy and halal Chinese food tasting, Colours of China brought the vibrant traditions of China to life right here at Nilai University.

Organised by students from the WFIT Mobility Programme as part of their Event Management subject, the event gave students the opportunity to apply what they have learned in a real-world setting while creating a meaningful cultural exchange for the entire campus community.

At Nilai University, learning isn't confined to the classroom. Through international collaborations, hands-on projects and global experiences, our students graduate with the confidence, practical skills and global perspective needed to thrive in today's world.
