Last Saturday, Interact Club of High School Muar joined a plogging project at Tanjung Muar with Micron Muar and the Interact Clubs of Muar, which are ICSMC, ICSAS, ICSAB and ICDA that is organized by Rotary Club of Muar and Town Council of Muar (MPM).The purpose of this activity is to clean the park to provide a cleaner environment for people to exercise.
The project started on 8.00am,we were given a pair of gloves and a garbage bag. After a while of short briefing ,we started our plugging. We walk along the specified route and pick up the rubbish as far our eyes could see. We also tried to pick up rubbish at the places that normal people wouldn't reach for.although it was a lot of trouble but it was totally worth it.
After two and a half hours, the park was
cleaned and we went to our assembly point to measure the weight of rubbish picked. In the end, the garbage reach a satisfying result of 350kilograms.
In this project, we found out that park cleanup is a perfect opportunity for everyone to realise how important it is to keep the environment clean. We also learn more experience and knowledge for us to improve. We would also like to thanks every volunteers that participated in this project and managed to free out their time for the park. This is a truthfully a meaningful project that I hope we can take part again in the future
