A Day With Clay. We had a wholesome time with an amazing clay artist Hanisah who came by a few weeks ago to teach and create a workshop with our students. The workshop also used some of our students clay pieces as her installation for her ongoing exhibition in Langkawi Island.

Thank you to our teacher Yez for organising this and welcoming Hanisah into our space too. 💚🌻

Our little cutout art tribute of Langkawi Island. With the kids making pieces of animals and plants found on the island and some wild imaginations too.

Was a joy to see how this all came together, with our volunteer teacher Laura guiding them along the way.

We love our times exploring new art forms and getting lost in its process too. Like adding a giant cat and surfers on our cutout art map too. See last photo. 😂💚💛

Treehouse Society has a new look now! Our learning centre was given a gift of mural art by students from Sabe, UCSI University, via the community architecture program. A new life and energy flows through this space now.

The Mural, the project via this group of amazing student came alive in November with talented students participating in different installation at a skate part, mural art with us and animal rescue workshops.

Such an honour and appreciation to the university and students who dedicated their time and energy to bring creative ideas into the island of Langkawi!

Was lots fo fun to see them work together, smiles and laughers, challenges, expectations and solutions which came with a flow of team spirit and leadership.

When I first met these refugee children two years ago, I would have never imagine that I would become their teacher and play a part in their daily lives today.

They have thought me so much, with the challenges we faced together, sharing laughter and seeing them grow with the knowledge they gained from all the guidance of teachers and volunteers!

Friends, to continue our efforts with these amazing kids, we are running a Crowdfunding page now!

Help us reach our funding goal! For the urgent needs of these refugee children and their education. These funds are for our learning centre, weekly expenses and for some new uniforms.

We have now started playing Ludo! Also Lego, Chess and coloring art books with our teachers and volunteers. Game and art time is after our lunch break usually. We are so grateful as this won’t be possible without the support of those who contributed.

Refugee children in Malaysia aren’t allowed access to public or private schools, so our learning centre is a special and important place for these kids. Big hugs!

As our learning centre is mainly a publicly funded project, we are running this fundraising campaign to raise enough funds for our coming month’s expenses.

Friends, every little donation or contribution matters to us, as funds will be used for our rent, utilities, weekly expenses like fuel, kitchen supplies field trips and teachers fees.

We wish to do more field trips too, beach trips or games, so let’s do this, as a giving community.

Today the kids got some cool looking GenSport school bags, canvas cases, pencil colors, markers colors and personal letters. Gifts from friends in Poland.

It's been three exhausting but amazing months since we moved to our new place, we are renting two homestays converted into our learning centre in Langkawi, for these underprivileged kids, who are refugees and undocumented children, who now have a comfortable space to learn and experience a students life that they deserve.

Our learning centre here is new and very slowly coming together, with still lots do be done. Like hiring a teacher and caretaker. For us to continue providing these kids with an education and a chance for a better life.

We are now doing a fundraising campaign for the month of July, August and September. We hope to raise enough funds to cover our coming months expenses.

Funds will be used for the rental, utilities, teacher's fees, school uniforms and weekly expenses (eg:fuel).
