Due to the pandemic-related school closures, Aqeela's learning progress lagged behind. In just three months of studying at Damai Kota Kinabalu Xiao Dou Dou, she has learned many Chinese characters and can read short passages fluently.

Aqeela 因为疫情停课而导致学习进度落后。在亚庇Damai小荳荳三语阅读园地学习短短3个月时间，已认识很多汉字，并能流畅阅读短文👍

学习力是一辈子的，父母要协助孩子建立良好的学习习惯，多陪伴及引导孩子；也要及时与学校及补习老师沟通，了解孩子的学习情况。早一点发现，早一点找到适合方法协助他们。

孩子如在一年级结束时，阅读能力仍然不佳，其他学科之学习成绩也不会理想，并在以后的学习过程可能遭遇困难。孩子长期处于挫折中，可能已造成自信心低落，学习意愿不足，若孩子已经升到高年级（4-6年级），要他从基础开始学习，可能会引起孩子的情绪反弹，进而影响学习效果。如果早一点了解孩子的问题，趁孩子可塑性最强的时候改善，或许能收到最大的效果。

Due to the pandemic-related school closures, Aqeela's learning progress lagged behind. In just three months of studying at Damai Kota Kinabalu Xiao Dou Dou, she has learned many Chinese characters and can read short passages fluently.

Learning ability lasts a lifetime, and parents should assist children in establishing good study habits, providing ample companionship, and guiding them. It's also crucial to communicate promptly with the school and tutors to understand the child's learning situation. Discovering and addressing any issues early, and finding suitable methods to assist them, is key.

If a child's reading ability remains poor at the end of standard one, their performance in other subjects is likely to be subpar, and they may encounter difficulties in future learning. Prolonged frustration can lead to low self-esteem and a lack of motivation for learning. If a child has already progressed to higher grades (standard 4-6), starting from the basics may trigger emotional resistance and affect learning outcomes. Identifying and addressing a child's issues early, while their plasticity is highest, may yield the greatest results.
