We’re so happy to be part of this meaningful collaboration with Ah Po Premium & Qi Miao Boardgame — bringing joyful play, valuable social communication and interactive skills, as well as bonding for quality family time, while helping our children play more and spend less time on screens!

一直以来，都很想为孩子们做一点事情。

尤其是自闭症谱系的孩子，因为我自己的孩子也有轻微的自闭症，所以这件事情对我来说，会多一份感受，也一直放在心里。

只是我很清楚，我不是这方面的专业人士。
有心是一回事，真正要怎么帮助孩子，还是需要专业的人来做。

所以最近我找到了 A Learning Star 的老师们，一起讨论看看可以做些什么。

这一次，我们有一个想法：
透过桌游，让孩子们在比较轻松、没有压力的环境里，一起玩、一起互动。

很幸运的是，当我们去和桌游店的老板娘聊的时候，才知道她自己也有上过相关的专业课程，对这方面有很好的了解，也知道桌游其实可以透过不同的设计，帮助孩子练习沟通、专注、轮流、规则理解和人与人之间的互动。

所以那天的面谈聊得非常愉快，也让原本只是一个小小的想法，慢慢有了比较清楚的方向 ❤️

活动的日期、人数和具体内容目前都还没有确定，我们还在和老师们一起讨论，希望是真的做得好、对孩子有帮助，而不是为了办活动而办活动。

等我们确认好了，会再和大家分享。

这样我们在规划的时候，也可以大概知道有多少家庭有这方面的需要。

Farewell to Teacher Amanda❤️

It’s such a bittersweet moment saying goodbye to you. We are so happy and proud of you as you begin your Master’s journey, but we will truly miss having you with us.

Thank you for all the love, patience, laughter, and wonderful memories you have shared with us. We will always remember your kindness, your encouragement, and all the little moments that made our days special.

This week, our little learners are practising how to keep cool and be a good sport!

It’s wonderful to see their progress as they learn to socialise, take turns, manage their emotions, handle winning and losing, and be supportive friends.

Every small step is a big achievement — and we’re so proud of how much they’re growing in their social skills! 🌱✨

✍️ 𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴!

Through tracing on a cardboard, children strengthen their pencil control, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and fine motor skills. These simple activities help little learners develop the confidence and muscle memory needed before they begin writing letters and numbers.

Learning becomes meaningful when tiny hands explore, practice, and grow—one pattern at a time. ✨

1 September 2026 — We were grateful to meet the principal and teachers of Tadika Puncak Ilmu ! Our workshop today focus on building understanding and confidence in supporting children with autism in the preschool setting.

We explored what autism may feel like from a child’s perspective, understood the function behind behaviours, and shared practical strategies teachers can use in the classroom.

Thank you to the principal and teachers of Tadika Puncak Ilmu for your openness and commitment to learning. We look forward to more opportunities to collaborate with preschools and strengthen inclusive support for every child. 💙

🌟 Learning, Connecting, and Growing!

Our team at A Learning Star just wrapped up an incredible experience at the 10th National Early Childhood Intervention Conference (NECIC) right here in Kuching!

We spent 3 days diving deep into how to make preschool school inclusion a reality, gaining invaluable insights on practical ways to support children with neurodiversity.

Beyond the powerful sessions, the absolute highlight was connecting with so many passionate educators, therapists and advocates who share our vision.

💙 A Meaningful Learning Experience at the SPELL Workshop!

On 21-23 August 2026, Ms Joon had the opportunity to attend the SPELL Workshop organised by KMCC, Kuching.

🔹 S — Structure
Creating consistency, predictability, and clear routines.

🔹 P — Positive Approaches & Expectations
Recognising strengths, abilities, and potential.

🔹 E — Empathy
Understanding the individual’s perspective, communication, and experiences.

🔹 L — Low Arousal
Reducing stress, anxiety, and sensory overload by creating a calm environment.

🔹 L — Links
Building meaningful relationships and strong connections with families, professionals, and the wider community.

One of the most impactful moments was hearing Cassandra and Jacquelyn share their personal experiences and journeys. Their stories reminded us that behind every behaviour is a person who deserves to be understood, respected and heard.

✨ The biggest takeaway: Never break the trust that someone places in you.

Trust takes time to build, but can be lost in a moment. As therapists, we have the responsibility to create a safe space where every individual feels valued, respected and understood.

Thank you, to the speakers for sharing so openly and reminding us that empathy, trust and genuine connection truly matter. 💙

PEERS®️ for Preschoolers

We’re excited to share that our 2nd batch of PEERS®️ for Preschoolers is now officially going-on at A Learning Star!

It’s wonderful to see our little learners coming together to practise important social skills, communication and friendship-building skills through fun, structured and supportive activities.

Every session is an opportunity to learn, practise and grow together.

A big thank you to our wonderful parents for being part of the journey and supporting their children’s learning beyond the classroom.
