It is wonderful to have another coming back to school. We look forward to seeing you again at the gathering, the Run 2026 on 24 October 2026! 🏃‍♂️🎉

The Sons of St. Joseph’s welcomed the day with resounding voices, warm camaraderie, and conversations filled with cherished memories. Unlike previous years, this year’s gathering was truly special, creating moments that will be remembered for years to come. The annual to welcome alumni and retired teachers back to school, will be organized every year in July in conjunction with Sarawak Independence Day.

While the games continued as they always have, the overwhelming turnout of alumni was the highlight of the day. Our OJA President, YB Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, has consistently encouraged Josephians to return to our alma mater - not merely to visit, but to support and give back to the school in whatever way we can.

The day was made even more meaningful as the Sarawak State Anthem and School Rally echoed proudly across the grounds, reminding us all of the enduring Josephian spirit. As the games concluded near noon, participants left with a sense of satisfaction, a little sweat, and plenty of smiles.

Our President, YB Datuk Amar Prof Dr Sim Kui Hian represented Premier of Sarawak for the officially opening of the newly constructed St. Joseph's Private School building extension..

Our President YB Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian gave his full support and encouragement to our young talented musicians from
• St. Joseph’s School Marching Band (founded 1897 -129 years old)
• ⁠⁠St. Joseph’s Private School Concert Band (founded in 2017 - 9 years old)
• ⁠⁠St. Teresa’s School Concert Band
• Kuching Wind Symphony (founded in 2021 by old band alumni boys Wilson Tan Joo Lung and Desmond Tie)

They will be travelling to Kuala Lumpur on Thursday to compete with 92 other teams at the Malaysia International Wind Festival (MIWFest) this coming weekend.

We wish them all the best for the upcoming competition.

Congratulations Chua Poh Hui, we are proud of you!

Our Heartiest Congratulations to SJPSS student ; Chua Poh Hui (Class of 2025) being awarded as one of the top 10 students in the whole of Malaysia for SPM 2025. She is the only one from Sarawak to receive this honour. On the 29th April 2026, at a ceremony at Istana Negara, Poh Hui received an award for being top 10 in Malaysia from Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah.

We applaud her hardwork, her dedication and her achievements through-out her years with us at SJPSS. From the bottom of our hearts, we wish her all the best in her future endeavours! God Bless!
