Why I take JLPT with my students?

Over the many years working part time as a teacher, it's common for me to take and retake certain levels of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) in solidarity with some of my students. It's normal for them to feel scared to register for the first time. Depending on the mood of the class batch, sometimes to reassure and to encourage them, I sign up for one of the five levels. This is so I can remind myself to see it from my students' perspective on challenges associated with preparing for JLPT and working a full time job (or studying for SPM etc )at the same time. There's a feeling of camaderie when you struggle together with students. That struggle becomes fond memories. Create those memories with me, everyone. - Stanley Sensei
