Team KTSDC delivered an exceptional performance at the PTNS–SSC–MSNS State Taekwondo (WT) Kyorugi & Poomsae Championship 2026, bringing home an impressive 30 Gold 🥇, 20 Silver 🥈, and 23 Bronze 🥉 medals.

KTSDC Taekwondo (WTF) Kyorugi & Poomsae Championship 2026 Concludes Successfully

The KTSDC (WTF) Taekwondo Kyorugi & Poomsae Championship 2026 was successfully held at the Sarawak SUKMA Taekwondo Training Centre, Petra Jaya, with around 200 athletes from across Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Bau, and Lundu.

Participants from schools, colleges, and training centres showcased impressive skill, discipline, and sportsmanship in both sparring and poomsae events.

Organised by Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Club (WTF), the championship served as a key preparation platform for the upcoming State Championship in Bintulu (17–18 April 2026).

Special acknowledgment is accorded to Tuan Azizul Annuar Adenan, the President of PTNS (TM/ WT), Master Tan Check Joon, Malaysian Red Crescent Society, RELA, advisors, sponsors, donors, supporters, officials, coaches, parents, guardian and volunteers for their invaluable assistance, cooperation, and dedication for making this event a success!

Celebrating Excellence and Spirit at Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Club (WTF) Upgrading Test Session

Over the weekend, at Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Club (WTF) proudly conducted a highly successful taekwondo upgrading test session. The event was filled with determination, discipline, and outstanding demonstrations of true Taekwondo spirit.

We were deeply honored to have our respected National Examiner, Grand Master Tan Check Joon, whose professionalism and insightful evaluation upheld the highest standards of grading excellence. His presence elevated the session and inspired all candidates to perform at their very best.

the True Spirit of Taekwondo

Throughout the session, participants fully demonstrated the five core tenets of Taekwondo (跆拳道精神) :

礼仪 (Courtesy) – Students showed respect to examiners, coaches, and fellow practitioners, remembering that Taekwondo begins and ends with courtesy.

廉耻 (Integrity) – Candidates performed with honesty and sincerity, acknowledging both strengths and areas for improvement.

忍耐 (Perseverance) – Despite the physically demanding assessments, everyone pushed through with determination and focus.

克己 (Self-control) – Students maintained composure and discipline, controlling their emotions and demonstrating mental strength alongside physical skill.

百折不屈 (Indomitable Spirit) – Even when faced with challenging techniques and sparring evaluations, participants stood firm with courage and confidence.

Meaningful Session During Ramadan

This grading was especially meaningful as it took place during the blessed month of Ramadan. Many of our Muslim members observed fasting while still giving their utmost commitment and energy throughout the session. Their resilience and dedication truly embodied Perseverance and Indomitable Spirit, inspiring everyone present.

The strong sense of unity, mutual support, and understanding among members beautifully reflected Taekwondo’s philosophy of cultivating not only physical strength but also moral character and inner discipline.

Taekwondo is more than a martial art, it is a lifelong journey of self-improvement, character building, and service to others. As we celebrate this successful upgrading test, we are reminded that true achievement lies not only in belt advancement, but in living out the values of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit in our daily lives.

ANAK BUMI KENYALANG DID US PROUD ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE!

We are incredibly proud of our very own Randy Owen Anak Augustine Linggi from Kuching Taekwondo & Self-Defence Club (WTF) and the senior Sarawakian athletes who delivered an outstanding performance at the 2nd Mt. Everest GCS International Open Taekwondo Poomsae Championships 2026 (WT G1) held in Kathmandu, Nepal from February, 13 to 18 2026.

Competing alongside Malaysia National Team teammates, our Sarawak warriors showcased exceptional discipline, precision, and fighting spirit and bringing home an incredible medal haul of:
