周杰倫 Jay Chou【你好嗎 How Are You】Official MV 28/11/2017

Word of the day: 你好吗 (nĭ hăo ma)?

If you remember from our previous session, we learn about how to say 'Hello' in Mandarin, i.e. 你好(nĭ hăo). Now, by adding a word 吗(pronounced as 'ma'), we turn the greeting word into a question that we usually use to address our concern to someone. In English it simply means 'How are you'? This word can be another option for greeting and start a conversation with someone.

Listen to the song composed by Jay Chow, entitled "你好吗?“ and see if you can spot those three words. The English translation of the lyrics is as follows:

The silent clock on the wall has stopped because of whom?
Is the clock like me, just want to stay there and not want to move?
You said our story has ended long time ago,
I forgot I need to keep moving,
I try hard to pretend that I am doing very well.
Now you seem to be no longer need me,
Perhaps I can still hold your hand in a another time and space?

I really want to know how you are doing.
Without me perhaps is a relief to you
I miss you in many thousand light years
I quietly come beside you

Now I try to live alone
Perhaps you already started a new life
Loneliness is accompanying me
Who is accompanying you then?
