This year’s congress, themed “𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝑳𝒆𝒈𝒂𝒄𝒚: 𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒔 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑺𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒌,” brought together industry professionals, government agencies, consultants, and technology providers to discuss the future of surveying and sustainable development in Sarawak.

The event highlighted key topics including modern surveying technologies, utility mapping, strata management, and construction dispute resolution, all of which play an important role in supporting smarter infrastructure planning and sustainable land development.

Orangutans are critically endangered, with one of the greatest threats being the rapid loss of their natural habitat. In Sarawak, continuous efforts are being made to protect these iconic species through habitat conservation, rehabilitation programs, and community-based initiatives that promote sustainable coexistence between people and wildlife.

An important part of these conservation efforts is 𝗗𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Through drone surveys and advanced data collection methods, researchers and conservation teams are able to monitor orangutan populations, identify critical habitats, and support informed land-use planning decisions to ensure long-term protection of the ecosystem.

We are truly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful project and to play a role in supporting orangutan conservation efforts in Sarawak.
