The Primary 2F students had an activity-packed session with Teacher Sherry! 🐾📚
They explored the world of animals while learning about the comparative and superlative forms of adjectives through fun drills, songs, role plays, a quiz game and plenty of written practice. 🦁🐘🦒

📚✨ Learning Grammar & Sharing Our Favourites!
The P4SPM1 students explored the relative pronouns “who,” “what” and “that”, putting their new knowledge into practice through sentence-building and exercises. 📝
They then enjoyed a fun speaking activity where they shared their favourite food, drink and dessert to create their ideal meal. 🍕🥤🍰
Learning English is always more enjoyable when we can connect it to the things we love! 💬❤️

🎉 World Festivals in LS2T! 🌍
Ms Sharifah Azalea recently led an exciting lesson on world festivals with our LS2T class!
The students started by watching a video and describing different global celebrations. Next, they worked in two groups to read a text and ask questions, concluding the lesson by writing a report on a celebration of their choice. 📝✨

🌟 34th MELTA International Conference 2026 🌟

The 34th MELTA International Conference 2026 brought together 285 delegates, distinguished speakers, presenters, educators and ELT practitioners from around the world for two days of learning, sharing and networking.

Representing ELC at the conference in Ipoh, Perak, were Mdm Christina Lau and Loh Kim Foong. Known for its famous white coffee, Ipoh provided a wonderful setting for an enriching and memorable conference experience. ☕️

The two-day event was packed with insightful talks, engaging presentations, thought-provoking discussions, hands-on workshops, networking opportunities and meaningful conversations with fellow educators and acquaintances.

With the theme “Shaping the Future of Learning: Leadership and ELT Practitioners in Action,” the conference encouraged educators to empower themselves, embrace change and explore new ways of addressing the challenges in education—especially as AI continues to shape the way students learn and interact with the world. 🤖📚

Overall, it was a truly rewarding experience. We returned with fresh ideas, new skills and valuable insights that we look forward to sharing with our ELC teachers and putting into practice to make English Language teaching and learning even more effective. 💡✨

🦖 Fun Facts on Velociraptors! 🦖

The Primary 4S’PM1 students had a roaring good time learning all about the fascinating Velociraptor! They gathered interesting facts, sketched and labelled its body parts, created their own fact file cards, and wrote about this amazing dinosaur.

A fun and creative way to learn, explore and share their discoveries! 🦖📚✨

📚 Oxford 3WW: Exploring Mood in Horror! 👻

The Oxford 3WW students explored how shifts in mood are created in an extract from a horror novel and how these changes are cleverly linked across paragraphs.
The students were fully engrossed in the activity as they picked out key words and phrases that built tension and fear. They then plotted their responses on a “Fear Graph”, tracking how the level of fear changed throughout the extract. 📈😱
An engaging lesson that brought the power of language, suspense and storytelling to life! 👏✨

Maximising Impact at ELC! 🌟

ELC teachers had the wonderful opportunity to learn from HRDCorp-certified trainer, Teacher Leon Lee, who shared an insightful session on “Maximising Impact” through the formula:

(Direction + Place) × Effort = Progress 🚀

The session was engaging and thought-provoking, with teachers working collaboratively on a case study, analysing situations and sharing their insights in groups.

The fun warm-up activity and energiser led by Teacher Leon also brought plenty of energy and excitement to the session! 🙌✨
