🎶 Almost Extinct: Reviving the Songs of the Kenyah Through Music

It was our honour to witness this meaningful performance by the Recorder Ensemble of Kuching Chung Hua Primary School No. 5, celebrating the rich musical heritage of the Kenyah community.

The programme featured three traditional Kenyah folk songs—Belabau, Bampa Lale, and Sayang Dau Kenai Tawai—based on the research of Dr. Chong Pek Lin, with recorder arrangements by Mr. Eddie Chan. The performance concluded with the beloved Malaysian classic Senja Berulang Rindu by Sudirman.

We are grateful to everyone who made this programme possible and hope it has inspired more people to appreciate and preserve the unique musical traditions of Sarawak.

🌈🎵 What a wonderful morning in The Sound of Colours event.

Through fun station games and interactive activities, children explored rhythm, melody, control, expression, and thinking skills while learning that music can be creative, exciting, and meaningful.

Thank you to all our tutors, assistants, volunteers, and parents for making this musical adventure possible. We loved seeing every child learn, laugh, and grow through music.

Honoured and grateful to be part of the Sarawak Hong Kong Music Exchange Concert 2026.
The choir presentation is led by Mr Eddie Chan as the Music Director and Choir Conductor.
Our music teachers and students are also joining the choir presentation, performing “Liling & Lan E”, a beautiful Kenyah folk song, accompanied by traditional sape playing by Teacher Martinus.
We are also proud to feature:
Solo singing by Teacher Catrina — 牧笛
Duet performance by Teacher Catrina & Mr Alex —人间
Also many more local outshine local music.
Music connects people beyond cultures and borders, and we are truly thankful to be part of this meaningful concert and cultural exchange. Looking forward to a wonderful evening filled with music, friendship, and harmony. ❤️
