Key Considerations When Choosing Electrical Wires
Wire Size Matters

The thicker the wire, the higher the current it can safely carry.
Undersized wires can overheat, causing damage and potential fire hazards.
Application Determines the Wire Gauge

Smaller wires (0.75 - 2.5 mm²) are suitable for low-power appliances like lighting and fans.
Medium-sized wires (4 - 6 mm²) are used for high-power devices such as air conditioners, water heaters, and kitchen appliances.
Larger wires (10 mm² and above) are necessary for heavy-duty industrial or high-load residential applications.
Environmental Factors

Longer cable runs require thicker wires to compensate for voltage drop.
Higher temperatures reduce the current-carrying capacity of a wire.
