Hello Everyone!

International Mental Health Conference 2021 is near, lets get to know our panelist!

Dr. Haniza is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Educational Psychology and Counselling (DEPC), Kulliyah of Education, International Islamic University Malaysia. She has served as an excutive committee member of Persatuan Kaunseling Malaysia (PERKAMA INTERNATIONAL) for six (6) terms.

Dr. Anasuya is the Director of Centre of Human Excellence and Development, as well as the Program Director of SLAS, Department of Social Sciences, Psychology Program, Taylor’s University.

Dr. Muhammad Iqbal is the lecturer of Jabatan Lektor Kepala, and an Associate Professor of Fakultus Psikologi Universitas Mercu Buana. He is also the CEO of Rumah Konseling PT Namary Insan Solusi.

Dr. Fredrick is a lecturer and researcher of Faculty of Psychology, University Padjajaran. He has obtained his PhD of Health Psychology from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Dr. Patricia is a lecturer of Faculty of Psychology and Education, University Malaysia Sabah. She has obtained her PhD in Counselor Educator, University of South Dakota, United States.

Dr. Lee Jun Choi is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development, University Malaysia Sarawak. His main areas of research are self efficacy, bullying, suicidal thought among students, autism and so much more!

We live in turbulent times and compacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the issue of mental health is not only relevant but crucial. This year, many people have faced serious challenges to their mental health. Along with the health impacts of the disease, COVID-19 has led to, self and social isolation, disconnection from family and friends, quarantine and lockdowns on movement resulting in more people than ever experiencing feelings of helplessness, isolation, grief, anxiety and depression. Demand for health support services has increased exponentially as a result.

The Student Representative Council of Universiti Malaysia Sabah is organizing a virtual International Mental Health Conference 2021 over three days in collaboration with Students' Union of Faculty of Psychology & Education Universiti Malaysia Sabah (PERMAPS) with the theme of “Through a New Lens”

This conference is designed with 4 series, which includes
1. Two Panel Sessions
2. Webinar
3. Sharing Session From Survivors
4. Mental Health Symposium

It is proudly presented by a group of students from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in Collaboration with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universitas Mercu Buana and Universitas Padjajaran.
