FTKA UMPSA X WH SKILL TRAINING SDN BHD - FORMALISE COLLABORATION THROUGH LETTER OF INTENT

The Faculty of Civil Engineering Technology (FTKA), Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), has successfully formalised a new industry-academia collaboration with WH Skill Training Sdn. Bhd. through the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) at Moxy Hotel Putrajaya.

The LOI was signed by Mr. Siong Wee Heng, Chief Operating Officer of WH Skill Training Sdn. Bhd., and Associate Professor Dr. Noram Irwan Bin Ramli, representing FTKA, UMPSA.

The signing marks an important step towards strengthening strategic cooperation between academia and industry, particularly in the areas of professional training, skills and competency development, student and graduate employability, industry engagement, applied research, consultancy, and knowledge exchange.

Through this collaboration, both parties are expected to explore opportunities for the joint development and delivery of professional training programmes, short courses, certification and micro-credential initiatives that respond to the evolving needs of the engineering and construction industries.

The partnership will also provide a platform for greater industry exposure for FTKA students and graduates through training, technical activities, industry engagement and other capacity-building initiatives. In addition, both organisations will explore opportunities for joint research, consultancy and industry-driven projects in areas of mutual interest.

The signing of the LOI reflects FTKA UMPSA's continued commitment to expanding meaningful partnerships with industry and ensuring that its academic, research and professional development activities remain closely connected to current and future industry needs.

The collaboration between FTKA UMPSA and WH Skill Training Sdn. Bhd. is expected to pave the way for further joint initiatives that will benefit both organisations, students, industry practitioners and the wider community.
