A warm welcome to almost 60 new students who have recently joined the Department of Biomedical Science!

Our new faces had the opportunity to attend a departmental briefing session, where our HOD provided an overview of the programme, their study plan and academic journey ahead.

It was a great opportunity for our students to get to know the department, understand what lies ahead, and begin their journey as part of the Biomedical Science family.

𝗞𝗔𝗛𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗙𝗙 𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗞𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗖 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.
The DBMS Laboratory Staff organised a Pickleball Clinic for KAHS staff on Thursday, 27 August 2026, bringing together almost 30 participants for a fun and active session.

🕗 Time: 8.00 AM – 10.30 AM
👥 Participants: Almost 30 KAHS staff

Designed for all skill levels, the session provided an opportunity for colleagues to stay active, learn the basics of pickleball, and connect with one another in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

A big thank you to the DBMS Laboratory Staff for organising this meaningful and engaging activity!

The department congratulates Prof. Dr. Mohd Affendi bin Mohd Shafri on his appointment as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Jawatankuasa Teknikal di bawah Jawatankuasa Penasihat Penyelidikan Perubatan Tradisional dan Komplementari (TRAC), Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia.

📅 Appointment Period:
30 September 2026 – 30 November 2028

This appointment recognises his expertise and experience in research related to Traditional and Complementary Medicine (T&CM) and his continued contribution to the field.

We are proud of this achievement and look forward to seeing Prof. Dr. Affendi contribute his expertise towards strengthening research and knowledge in Traditional and Complementary Medicine at the national level.

We are delighted to celebrate the achievement of Asst. Prof. Dr. Kartikeyan Patma Nesan who was awarded the Gold Medal for Innovation Award at the International Symposium on Public Health with International Community Services 2.0.

📌 Project Title: BIOESCAPE: A Dual Innovation Integrating AI Visual Notes and Gamified Clinical Assessment for Education

The symposium was held from 10–12 August 2026 at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Penang Branch, Bertam Campus, bringing together academic and professional communities to share innovative ideas and contributions in public health and education.
