The idea of establishing the Malaysian Senior Scientists Association (MSSA) was suggested to Confederation of Scientific and Technological Associations in Malaysia (COSTAM) by Tan Sri Law Hieng Ding, the former Minister of Science, Technology and the Environment. A pro-tem committee, chaired by Academician Tan Sri Emeritus Professor Datuk Dr. Augustine S.H.Ong, was thus formed, and after two years

The Radio Cosmology group will be organising the second Malaysian VLBI (very long baseline interferometry) workshop as per details below:
Date: 5th - 8th September 2022
Venue: Faculty of Science, UM.

Under this idea, they also preparing an outreach "Dinner with Astronomers" on Tuesday 6th September (see attached poster).
Tentative:
19:00 -> Reception and welcome drink (Interaction between participants and astronomers)
19:30 -> Dinner (Some short speeches by astronomers will be given. The audience also can give their own opinions and thoughts too)
21:30 -> After-dinner additional interaction between astronomers and others
22:00 -> End of Gathering

Global Malaysian will also organise a GMA2023 convention in January 2023. This convention seeks to bring together both the local and global Malaysian astronomical community for the first time. More information about this can be found in
