Kuala Lumpur has just landed among the world’s top street-food cities.
Time Out ranked Kuala Lumpur #2 globally, scoring the Malaysian capital 62% just one point behind Ho Chi Minh City. It also placed KL ahead of Bangkok, Hanoi and Mexico City.
The ranking reflects what makes Kuala Lumpur street food so distinctive: Malay, Chinese, Indian and other culinary influences coming together across the city.
From nasi lemak and laksa to roti canai, char kway teow and countless hawker dishes, KL offers an unusually diverse food culture at street level.
It’s another reminder that Malaysia’s food scene isn’t just popular with locals Kuala Lumpur is now recognised as one of the world’s leading street-food destinations.
