AI-Powered Wound Assessment: A New Era in Wound Care

Chronic wounds remain a major healthcare challenge, often requiring frequent assessments and specialized expertise. A recent study has demonstrated how Artificial Intelligence can support clinicians by automatically analyzing wound images, identifying tissue types, measuring wound size, and monitoring healing progress.
Researchers developed an AI-powered wound assessment tool using a dataset of approximately 4,000 wound images. The system achieved an impressive 92% Dice score for wound segmentation, enabling accurate wound measurement and real-time assessment through a mobile application. The AI model was optimized for smartphone use, delivering results in just 0.3 seconds while maintaining high accuracy.

This technology has the potential to:
✅ Improve the accuracy and consistency of wound assessments
✅ Support clinical decision-making and personalized care
✅ Reduce workload for healthcare professionals
✅ Enhance remote monitoring and telehealth services
✅ Improve patient outcomes while reducing healthcare costs

📢 New Publication by Prof. Harikrishna K.R. Nair

We are delighted to share the latest publication by Prof. Harikrishna K.R. Nair, Advisor to Enayat Aroha Academy and an internationally recognized expert in wound care.

His recent paper, "Chronic Wound Management With a Super-oxidized Solution and Aerosol Gel Spray: A Case Series," contributes valuable evidence to the advancement of chronic wound management and wound healing practices.

The study evaluated the use of an electro-activated super-oxidized solution combined with an aerosol gel spray in the management of chronic wounds. Across nine patients with various chronic wound types, the researchers observed progressive wound healing, wound size reduction, re-epithelialization, and no new wound infections during treatment. One notable case achieved complete closure of a diabetic foot ulcer within 31 days after treatment with this wound management approach.
